Fullmetal Alchemist will be gracing our eyes again in the form of live action in its next movie adaptation. It has been a while since the anime and the manga finished their run but we can never have too much of the Elric brothers and their adventures. Filming is slated to begin in June and be released in Japan by 2017.

Fullmetal Alchemist

The movie will use a combination of real actors and CGI to the depict the characters.  This leads me to believe the movie will be taking place before the events of the series finale. CGI makes sense if they are planning to depict Edward sporting his auto mail arm and Alphonse in his full plate giant metal armor. What story are they planning on telling?

I’m sure, by now. most people have finished either the manga or the anime and wouldn’t mind a continuation of the Elric brothers’ story but a live action Fullmetal Alchemist movie without the iconic metal arm and the suit would probably not be as appealing to the masses. The anime has produced two animated films that weren’t completely canon, meaning a live action adaptation that doesn’t completely follow the Fullmetal Alchemist timeline is not completely out of the picture.

What do you think about the idea of a live action Fullmetal Alchemist? There have been live action adaptations of animes in the past with results that were less than impressive.  Could Fullmetal Alchemist head down that same trail?

Luis is a generally great person to be around with unfortunately with his sense of humor you never know when he's being serious. He plays enough video games to consider himself more than a novice and possibly watches too much tv.
