I’ll never understand people who start full-blown arguments over a game. If your team loses, just move on; you’re not going to win every time. Still, some fans take things way too far when it comes to defending their favorite team. I get it if you’re debating the outcome or comparing players, but starting a fight just because someone’s cheering for the other side? That’s a bit much. A Texas “male Karen” did exactly that during a recent USA vs. Mexico match, getting visibly upset with a Mexican fan for simply showing support.
In a circulated video, the Mexican fan is talking to the Texas Karen who keeps telling him to be respectful. Other USA fans were talking as well, but no one is fuming like this guy. When the Mexican fan decides to raise Mexico’s flag, the USA fan goes nuts. He jumps over people in front of him trying to snatch the flag out of the guy’s hand. People he jumped on top of end up falling with him as chaos ensues. What is ironic is that the guy got angry over a flag when he himself is wearing the USA flag. He is wearing a suit filled with the USA flag and also a hat that has the flag as well. Why is it okay for you to support your team and not okay for the Mexican fan? I should point out that the USA lost the game to Mexico, so even if the Mexico fan was attacked, at least his team won.
People Reacting to the Texas Male Karen’s Behavior
Immediately, everyone came after the Texas male Karen, including Americans themselves. One person mocked the guy’s reaction as they wrote, “So I guess this MAGA moron didn’t understand what two teams were playing!” I mean, with the way he was dressed he did look like he was MAGA. Since the next World Cup will be hosted by America, Mexico, and Canada, someone wrote, “World Cup is going to be a shit show.” Someone else brought ICE into the conversation as they said, “ICE will just arrest all the teams opposing Team USA…” For some reason, I won’t be surprised if this actually happened.
Another person mocked the Texas Karen’s behavior by saying, “F**k me, if this guy is so scared of a piece of material I’ve got a sheet of paper that will positively make him shit his pants.” This made people start guessing what sheet of paper would make him do as described. “Is it the constitution?” someone wondered. “Or a job application,” was the reply of another person. Due to everything happening in America recently, several people were actually happy that the USA lost. “As an American, thank f**king God. We do not need anything to be proud of rn,” one Redditor wrote about the loss. I don’t want to imagine what would happen when the World Cup is here.
