These are certainly long episodes for any television series. Some fans had requested for the episodes to be two hours each, but realistically that would only give HBO more reason to split the episode into two parts so this is a happy middle ground. The Nerd Stash has been covering the cast’s reactions to reading the final scripts and their thoughts on the series finale. With so much at stake in Westeros, fans are eager to see how the stories of Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, Arya Stark, Jaime Lannister, Tyrion Lannister, and other series favorites end. In the battle against the Night King and his ever-growing army of undead soldiers, fans of the books and show alike will get to see who ends up on the Iron Throne at the closing of Game of Thrones.
While the series is ending, author George R. R. Martin is still publishing the books of his A Song of Ice and Fire series that detail additional characters and plotlines not included in the show.
