We are still several months from the premiere of Game of Thrones seventh season, and HBO has just released a teaser trailer for the upcoming season that drops a few hints at what we can expect to see. Check out the trailer below, and then we’ll break down the footage:

Set to the tune of “Sit Down” by James, the trailer features three people who all have some sort of claim to the Iron Throne. Judging from the characters featured in the trailer, we know who our biggest players in the seventh season will be. Cersei Lannister, fresh off lighting the biggest bonfire King’s Landing has ever seen, takes her seat on the Iron Throne. Jon Snow, recently proclaimed King in the North (and, who we now know, is actually a Targaryen) takes his seat at Winterfell. And Daenerys takes a seat in what is most likely Dragonstone, meaning she has arrived in Westeros and reclaimed her family’s ancestral home.

Just when the trailer seems like it will end quietly, Cersei lets out a deep breath, and it is clearly visible. Winter has arrived, and the camera zooms to show the eye of the Night King, who clearly is looking to bring winter down on all of Westeros.

Cersei is not used to the cold.

Game of Thrones is rapidly approaching the end of its run, with only two seasons left. Each of those seasons will also be shorter than the ten episodes that have been standard for every season. The seventh season of Game of Thrones will premiere on Sunday, July 16 on HBO. Stay tuned for more details as they become available.

Excited to see what’s in store for the seventh season of Game of Thrones? Do you think one of the characters featured in the trailer is going to win in the end? Who’s the next to die? Let us know in the comments.
