Many companies have thrown the gauntlet down, joining the battle royal for gamers wallets. Amazon throws down the gauntlet with their announcement of free gaming content Prime users.
Apple just launched Apple Arcade this past Thursday, so Amazon had a response to by putting their Twitch acquisition to use. Amazon Prime is offering free mobile gaming content to its members via their Twitch division.
“We’ve long been committed to making Prime the best deal in games, with great content for PC and console games from Twitch Prime, and now we’re offering our members even more value, with new mobile game benefits,” Twitch Prime Vice President Ethan Evans said.
This month’s partner is with one of the more prominent names in battle royale games. The free-to-play title PUBG Mobile will see Prime players get the Blood Oath-Karabiner 98K gun, Infiltrator clothing, pieces and land in style with the Black Magma Parachute.
These exclusive in-game items are the start of a continuous feature that Amazon plans to give Prime members. “Upcoming offers will include content from other top mobile game publishers,” said Amazon in a statement. According to a source, the service will partner with names such as EA, Moonton, and Netmarble.
Some say they’re perky
Twitch already includes Prime offers through Twitch Prime such access to certain titles, as exclusive emoticons and channel subscriptions to name a few. Now, this newest benefits also brings the ability to share Twitch Prime goodies, even if those users aren’t apart of the Prime program.
The service typically does cross-promotional incentives with publishers and developers to entice users to join. Twitch Prime has offered incentives to get more subscribers as when they gave users a free year of access to Nintendo Switch Online.
While it is unclear at the moment how many times a month the mobile game promotion will occur, we’ll let you know as more information arises.
Are you leaning towards getting an Amazon Prime or Twitch sub now? Do you think the service price will go up as they add more perks? What’s the last mobile game you played? Leave your comments!
