A guiding light for all lost within the Sumeru sands, Sethos is set to be both the first Electro bow-wielding on-field DPS to debut in Genshin Impact and a great alternative for some of the game’s most well-known meta 5-stars. But although his kit may look straightforward enough, unlocking his full potential will demand both a very specific build and a well-picked composition. Here’s the best Sethos build in Genshin Impact, as well as a few teams sure to allow him to perform at his best.
Table of Contents:
(This guide was made based on values showcased on Honey Impact, as well as on leaks by Mero, and will be updated once Sethos debuts or if changes are made to his kit).
The Best Sethos Build in Genshin Impact: About Our Build
As Sethos’s whole kit revolves around the use of his Charged Attacks, be it either by performing enhanced Shadowpiercing Shots or after entering his Twilight Meditation state — which will convert all of his NA’s into Dusk Bolts dealing Charged Attack DMG — our build, which I like to call Stargazing Sharpshooter, will be focused on buffing his CA damage to the maximum while also making sure he can use his Elemental Burst on every rotation without any strain.
Are His Constellations a Must?
Differently from cases like Fischl’s, where her sixth constellation turns her into one of the game’s best sub-DPS’ in the game, none of Sethos’s constellations appear to be game-changing enough to be mandatory. Among them, however, it’s important to highlight his first one, Midsummer Courtyard, which will increase the CRIT Rate of all of his Shadowpiercing Shots by 15%. His second constellation, Papyrus Scripture of Silent Secrets, is also a highlight, given its ability to provide him with up to a 30% increase in Electro DMG Bonus.
The Best Artifacts for Sethos
The best artifact set for Sethos in Genshin Impact is a 4-piece Wanderer’s Troupe. The set has been a great pick since the game first debuted for most bow DPSs and is unrivaled here given its ability to offer him 80 EM and a 35% boost in Charged Attack DMG.
Best Alternatives
If you prefer to use some more hyperfocused sets, using a 4-piece Gilded Dreams will allow you to massively boost his EM and ATK% based on your team members, while using a full Thundering Fury set will allow you to take his damage to new heights given it’s Electro and reaction DMG enhancing effects. When working as a sole Electro unit in teams featuring Nahida, a 4-piece Thundering Fury would be my main alternative for Sethos. You can check out a more in-depth overview of all of the mentioned artifact sets, as well as how to unlock them, below.
Artifact Set | Effects | How to Acquire |
---|---|---|
Wanderer’s Troupe | 2-piece: Elemental Mastery +80 4-piece: Increases your Charged Attack DMG by 35% if your character wields either a bow or a catalyst. | By defeating World and Weekly Bosses. Also available through its Artifact Strongbox. |
Gilded Dreams | 2-piece: Elemental Mastery +80 4-piece: For 8 seconds after triggering an Elemental Reaction, you will receive 14% ATK for each party member of the same element in the party. You will receive 50 EM for each wielding a different element as the set’s wielder. | By completing Sumeru’s Spire of Solitary Enlightenment domain. Also available through its Artifact Strongbox. |
Thundering Fury | 2-piece: +15% Electro DMG Bonus 4-piece: Increases your Overloaded, Electro-Charged, Hyperbloom, and Superconduct DMG by 40%, as well as the damage dealt by Aggravate and Quicken by 20%. Triggering any of the mentioned reactions within 0.8-second intervals will also lower your Elemental s Skill CD by 1 second. | By completing Inazuma’s Midsummer Courtyard domain. Also available through its Artifact Strongbox. |
Best Stats and Substats
Taking into account how Sethos’s set scales more from EM, as well as his relatively low ATK, I recommend that you go with a mixed selection featuring an ATK% Sands of Eon, an Electro DMG Bonus Goblet of Eonothem, and a CRIT DMG Circlet of Logos. Change the latter to Rate if using a CRIT DMG Weapon.
For substats, I recommend that you go with CRIT first, as reaching the 50/100 threshold is a must for any DPS, and then prioritize Energy Recharge and Elemental Mastery, respectively. For our build, I recommend raising Sethos’s ER to at least 120/130%.
The Best Weapons for Sethos
The best weapon for Sethos in Genshin Impact is Tighnari’s signature 5-star, Hunter’s Path, given both its CRIT Rate substat and ability to boost his overall elemental DMG by 16%. The biggest differencial of the weapon, however, lies in its ability to apply the Tireless Hunt effect to Sethos for 10 seconds after he hits an opponent with a charged attack. During its runtime, the effect will boost the DMG of up to 12 CAs performed by him by 160% of his EM.
Best 5-Star Alternatives
If our best-in-slot bow is not an option for you, Lyney’s The First Great Magic would be my main pick. The bow will perform almost identically to our top pick and will provide him with both a massive amount of CRIT DMG (66.2% at level 90) and increase his Charged Attack DMG by 16% (at R1). In certain scenarios, The First Great Magic can also provide Sethos with a 48% increase in ATK and a 10% boost in Movement Speed, the latter of which is a big help given his playstyle. Following the bow, we then have Yelan’s Aqua Simulacra.
The Best 4-Star and F2p Weapons for Sethos
Both the best FP2 and under 5-star weapon pick for Sethos in Genshin Impact is a fully refined Slingshot, given its 31.2% CRIT Rate at level 90 and ability to boost the damage of all NA and CA which hit targets within 0.3 seconds by 60%. Using a fully refined Hamayumi can also work for our Sethos build. When wielding it, the 4-star bow will offer a welcome increase in ATK, as well as boost his CA DMG by 24%.
To recap, here are the best weapons for Sethos in Genshin Impact:
Weapon Name | Substat |
---|---|
1. Hunter’s Path | CRIT Rate |
2. The First Great Magic | CRIT DMG |
3. Aqua Simulacra | CRIT DMG |
4. Slingshot (R5) | CRIT Rate |
5. Hamayumi (R5) | ATK |
The Best Teams for Sethos in Genshin Impact
As it’s true for all DPSs whose kits revolve around Elemental Mastery (or to be more precise, any Electro DPS in the game), the best Sethos team in Genshin Impact will feature Nahida as its main support/sub-DPS. For the remaining spots in the team, we will be going with either Kaedehara Kazuha or Furina as its main support, and Fischl as both another source of damage and a focused battery. Using him in the usual Chevreuse combination is also a recipe for success.
To recap, here are the best teams for Sethos in Genshin Impact, as well as a good alternative:
- Sethos + Nahida + Furina/Baizhu + Fischl
- Sethos + Furina + Sangonomiya Kokomi + Fischl/Raiden Shogun
- Sethos + Chevreuse + Xiangling/Raiden Shogun + Bennett
