It’s not every day that a major game company sets its sights on middle schoolers, but that’s exactly what Hoyoverse did. As part of the Care Month career exploration activities, a group of eighth graders got the rare chance to visit the Hoyoverse studio. Guided by friendly staff, the students explored the Genshin Impact themed exhibition hall and got a glimpse into the creative process behind the hit game. The highlight of the visit was a hands-on dubbing workshop. Inside a professional recording studio, an experienced instructor introduced the basics of voice acting and coached students as they tried voicing characters themselves. The experience was both exciting and inspiring, maybe even enough to spark future careers in voice acting with Hoyoverse.

Of course, during this event, the students didn’t just stop at the HoYoverse studio to explore the world of voice acting. The eighth graders also had the chance to visit other companies like Philips and even made a trip to Ocean World at Changfeng Park. It was a colorful and enriching journey, but unsurprisingly, many students found the visit to the Genshin Impact studio especially exciting. After all, the game has become one of the biggest hits in China, with countless young gamers drawn to its immersive world and captivating characters.

Still, it’s pretty surprising to see eighth graders getting the opportunity to visit professional voice acting and recording studios. While it might seem like a long shot now, working at HoYoverse could very well become a dream for some of these students. But the experience didn’t stop at the recording booth, they also had the chance to explore the exhibition hall, where they got a closer look at other parts of the studio’s production process, including 3D rendering, animation production, and more.

Many Genshin Impact fans couldn’t help but feel a bit envious seeing the students visit the HoYoverse studio and even step into the voice acting booth. On Reddit, some users joked about whether these kids might actually end up voicing child characters in the game. “Raaaah, actual kid voices for kid characters!!!!” one excited commenter wrote, capturing the playful buzz in the community.

Others hoped this news signaled that HoYoverse wouldn’t replace human voice actors with AI. Given the ongoing drama surrounding English voice actors and their strike, it’s easy to understand the concern. “I hope this is a good sign that HoYo isn’t planning to replace human actors with AI. I’m not saying they would, but seeing more positive signs would definitely be reassuring during these uncertain times,” one user commented.
