Following Narco Road is the next expansion for Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Fallen Ghosts. The news comes from the UbiBlog this week, which provided a release date and details on the upcoming expansion. Fallen Ghosts will release May 30 for Season Pass holders and June 6 for the rest of us.
Within this DLC pack, you’ll receive 15 new missions, four bosses and the level cap will rise to 35. Set after the events of the main game, the Ghosts have just survived a helicopter crash. As a result they a trapped in a jungle setting and are being tracked down by new enemy group Los Extranjeros. The three new environments to explore will be populated by four main enemy types; armored, elite snipers, jammers and covert ops.
For those who don’t know much about Ghost Recon: Wildlands, let me fill you in. The game is a massive open world tactical shooter. You enter Bolivia as a team of Ghosts. Covert American operatives looking to extinguish the cartel group known as the Santa Blanca from the region. Either in four player co-op or assisted by three A.I. squadmates, you’ll cause chaos in each region, eventually drawing out a Buchon (a boss) and slowly work your way up the ranks, all the way to the leader of the Cartel, El Sueno. Having sunk around 30 hours into Ghost Recon, I ended up viewing it as a mix between a Far Cry title and a B tier Metal Gear Solid 5. Gameplay is satisfying and enjoyable if not overly repetitive, and the story even if nothing special is still enough to guide you from one mission to the next. Adding faces and personalities to your targets.
