It’s another sad day for comedy legends today. Earlier today, it was announced that the iconic Gilbert Gottfried passed away. The comedian/actor is well-known as Iago in the original Aladdin franchise, among other ’90s roles. His comedic stylings and wit are irreplaceable, to say the least. Since the announcement, a wave of love and remembrance has outpoured from the internet. It is also a poignant reminder of those we’ve lost this year. Gilbert Gottfried himself posted a photo online in January, recalling his time with Louie Anderson and Bob Saget. Now, it seems that the final member of that trio has joined them on the other side.
This photo is very sad now. RIP Bob Saget and RIP Louie Anderson. Both good friends that will be missed. pic.twitter.com/DLJ8Ntt7LN

Gottfried and Co. Were Thick as Thieves
It’s no wonder that this photo posted by Gilbert Gottfried has resurfaced online. Sources have shown that the three of them were very close during life. Around the time of the passing of Bob Saget, Gottfried often spoke out about his friend. He even mentioned an intimate final conversation with Saget before he passed. According to Gottfried, he and Saget were always making each other laugh until the end. And before Saget’s cause of death was even revealed, he knew it had nothing to do with drugs or alcohol abuse. They simply understood each other.
The viral photo notes one commonality between Gilbert Gottfried, Saget, and Anderson. All three of them loved to laugh and make others do the same. Saget was on tour when he had his unfortunate head injury. And Gottfried was always a regular on Comedy Central’s Roast series. As we reflect on the loss of these three comedic friends, one thing is important. To recall that they wouldn’t want us to grieve for too long. Because a smile and a laugh are always better. Here’s to three legends on their way out.
