A free version of Google Stadia is available now including two months of Stadia Pro.

This was announced via a blog post from Google Stadia Vice President and GM Phil Harrison. In the post, Harrison explained this decision:

“We’re facing some of the most challenging times in recent memory. Keeping social distance is vital, but staying home for long periods can be difficult and feel isolating. Video games can be a valuable way to socialize with friends and family when you’re stuck at home, so we’re giving gamers in 14 countries free access to Stadia for two months. This is starting today and rolling out over the next 48 hours.”

To get the two months of Stadia Pro for free, you would simply head over to Stadia.com to sign up with a valid Gmail address. If that doesn’t work, try signing up via the Google Stadia app on mobile. When you are able to sign up for the free version (including the two-month trial), you’ll get access to nine games that are already available on Google Stadia Pro. Some of these games include Destiny 2: The Collection, GRID, Thumper, Serious Sam Collection, and more. There are also games that will be added to this list over the next two months.

All that being said, you’ll need to uncheck the auto-renew subscription box once you sign up so you aren’t charged $10 in two months’ time.

People who are already Google Stadia Pro members will get the next two months of the service free.

Harrison closed out the blog post discussing bandwidth changes. Due to people practicing social distancing and remaining at home, you could see the resolution of your games drop from 4k to 1080p. Harrison noted that you change your data usage options in the Google Stadia app.
