GOP Infighting Erupts as South Carolina Republican Slams Her Own Party: ‘Why Am I Even Here?’

“Nancy Pelosi was a more effective House speaker than any Republican this century.”

It seems like the cracks in the Republican stronghold are getting mulitplied each week. Another prominent figure, South Carolina Congresswoman Nancy Mace, has written a scathing op-ed attacking her own party this week. Mace has not been afraid to speak out or have her own lane, as she was one of the initial GOP members to support releasing the Epstein files. She appeared on CNN to talk a little bit about her views and how they are failing themselves and the American people.

We’re frustrated Congress won’t codify President Trump’s Executive Orders.

This op-ed is the wake-up call: get it done.

If Republicans don’t step up now and deliver on Trump’s agenda, we will lose big in the midterms.

She largely blames her party for not “codifying” Trump’s agenda even though his Presidential win shows that this is what the American people wanted. She wonders why his plethora of executive orders have not made their way to become law, despite the GOP owning both houses of Congress. In one of her more intriguing observations, she notes:

“The obstacles to achieving almost anything are enough to make any member who came to Washington with noble intentions ask: Why am I even here?“

While politically, her views can be abhorrent, she is right in her views on government, many of which are why people have become so cynical with our current state of affairs. She makes all of us wonder, what is actually happening? While a total effectiveness of a GOP Congressional agenda would be disastrous, Mace is right to go after how pathetic this current team of policymakers have been.

Her political ambitions are clear as the threw her hat into the SC governor’s race earlier in the summer. Her latest hitpiece is just another example of continuing frustration on Capitol Hill. She warns that if her party doesn’t make long lasting change, in the form of real legislation, then they will “deserve” to lose their majority. Let’s hope so!
