Despite Rockstar Games being busy with the upcoming GTA 6, the studio is not quite done yet with GTA 5. The devs have recently released a free and rather significant graphics upgrade for GTA 5. However, fans have had their attention somewhere else since December 2023, and many of them would’ve preferred a GTA 6 trailer 2 instead of the GTA 5 upgrade.
The whole interaction took place in Rockstar Games’ official Twitter/X account where they also announced the free GTA 5 upgrade. GTA 5 will supposedly get the free graphical upgrade and gameplay features previously only available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S since many players are still fond of GTA Online.
Some fans, however, are more fond of the currently unavailable GTA 6, and Rockstar Games’ announcement for the GTA 5 upgrade was thus bombarded with replies asking for GTA 6 trailer 2. Below is one of the more popular reactions to GTA 6‘s trailer, or lack thereof.
The comment was completely unrelated to the GTA 5 upgrade, of course, but that didn’t stop thousands of people from sympathizing (or laughing with) the GTA 6 fans. Others merely asked for a more serious query about GTA 6 trailer 2.
Oddly enough, Rockstar Games has also announced previously that GTA 6 is still on track for an Autumn/Fall release date, which is only seven months from now at the earliest. So it’s not like GTA 6 is being withheld, but fans simply can’t wait and want more teasers, hence the irrational clamor for a GTA 6 trailer 2.
In Their Defense, It’s Been More than a Year
Granted, GTA 6 fans are not exactly being unreasonable with their memes and expectations. It has been more or less 400+ days since the first (and only) GTA 6 trailer and fans even started creating conspiracy theories back in January and even December 2024 about GTA 6 trailer 2.
Most of the expectations and theories have since been squashed or proven untrue, further leading to disappointment. Still, despite the lack of further GTA 6, it appears the hype hasn’t died down; the rather belated GTA 5 sequel is still the most anticipated game of 2025 (and hopefully not 2026).
There have been some details regarding GTA 6 even with the lack of trailers, and one of the biggest developments for the upcoming sequel is how Rockstar Games is planning to give GTA 6 some kind of Roblox framework. That means practically unlimited user-generated content could be available long after you’re done with the campaign.
