Hang on to your gamer seats because we have some bad news. Rockstar Games has just announced that GTA 6 has been delayed to November 19, 2026. Naturally, this is a massive blow for gamers who have been eagerly awaiting this title. According to the studio, the extra time will be to “offer the level of polish we have come to expect and deserve.” With this bad news, we are all now wondering if the game will ever manage to make it to its set release dates or get another delay further down the line.
GTA 6 Gets Delayed, Again
Rockstar Games posted the following on its official X account:
“Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026.
We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve.“
This is huge news, as many players were already hoping for the game to launch in the first months of the next year. Now, unfortunately, we’ll all have to wait until the end of the year to experience what might be one of the biggest sandbox games ever.
Speculations are all around the internet right now, many claiming it might be a marketing tactic to aim for the holiday season. A few others believe it will now be a launch title for the supposed PS6 console, which isn’t too crazy if you think about it.
Regardless, this is certainly a blow for those GTA fans, or rather, every single gamer out there who has been waiting for this monumental game. Hopefully, this will be the last delay, but you never know nowadays. Yet, if polish is all that this game needs, Rockstar Games’ track record should give us some peace of mind, as we know the finished product will be worth the wait.
