GTA 6 may have just received its first official teaser within a GTA Online feature update. The latest update, The Last Dose, sees players take on Dr. Friedlander, Michael’s therapist from the main story, as part of an ongoing drug war. However, eagle-eyed fans have noticed that Friedlander reveals his plans to flee to South America before being defeated. This is particularly interesting as it aligns with leaks from many years ago that suggested that GTA 6 was labeled as “Project Americas” as a codename at Rockstar.
GTA Online Update Features a GTA 6 Character
While this may be simply a coincidence, it seems more likely that Rockstar is starting to tease its fans with small hints about the upcoming game. The company has not given any official details about the game, so fans have been left to speculate based on various leaks and rumors that have emerged over the years. Some leaks have suggested that GTA 6 will be set in Vice City and feature at least two playable characters, while others have suggested that it will borrow from a lot of Red Dead Redemption 2’s gameplay.

The mention of South America in the latest update to GTA Online seems to add weight to the rumors that GTA 6 will allow players to travel between Vice City and South America with a feature. While this feature was reportedly scaled back at some point during development, it’s possible that some version of it still exists within the game. If this is the case, then it’s plausible that Dr. Friedlander could appear in GTA 6 as a side character.
Of course, fans will have to wait for years before they can find out. Rockstar is famously secretive regarding its games, and we likely won’t hear any official details about GTA 6 for some time yet. However, for fans eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series, this small teaser within GTA Online will be enough to keep them speculating and theorizing until more information is released.
