Olympic gymnast Nastia Liukin is setting the record straight after her own Instagram followers expressed concern over her slender frame recently. The five-time Olympic medalist updated her account over the holidays with a massive gallery to sum up her holiday season 2023, and she made sure to include her eats.
Nastia has sparked worry over 2023 as fans have been deeming her too skinny, with some even suggesting that she’s suffering from an eating disorder. The Russian-born sensation’s gallery last week showed her slim figure, but it likewise included the French toast she’d enjoyed.
Nastia Liukin Shows Off Appetite On Instagram
Opening with a leggy outdoor snap as she modeled tight red leggings and a matching ski jacket and beanie, Nastia offered a throwback to times she’s been able to visit her Montana cabin. 2023 wasn’t one of them.
She then uploaded a gorgeous snap with her dog, Harley, before sharing a close-up of her restaurant order. Looks like Nastia is into French toast with powdered sugar! The APL collaborator, who sparked an anorexia storm in 2020, also included a drop-it-low snap of herself in a gorgeous tartan coat and boots, plus festive footage and a plate with “Are we having pancakes?” written on it.
Fans Still Worried About Her Weight
“Wasn’t able to spend Christmas at our Montana home this year so here’s a throwback instead,” Liukin wrote, then listing all the things she’d enjoyed instead. Each bullet corresponded to one of the slides.
Fans had, earlier this year, expressed worry for Nastia. The above pink minidress photo had one popular comment reading: “Hey Nastia, I sincerely hope you’re doing okay and you have people who are taking care of you. There is also support out there if you need it. Take care of yourself. You are more enough. 🌺”
Ditching the caring vibe for a harsh, blunt comment, another fan had likened Liukin to a “malnourished child.”
“She needs a nutritionist and a therapist before she drops with cardiac arrest,” a third had replied. Meanwhile, an October video shared to Nastia’s Instagram saw one fan write: “She’s so tiny. Hope she’s okay.”
In 2020, a fan called Nastia “borderline anorexic looking,” with her clap-back making headlines. “If taking pictures of my OWN body — a body that won me many Olympic medals, a body that I push each day to get stronger, a body that God gave me — is inherently promoting anorexia, then honestly, we’ve gotten to a place in the world where just BEING is offensive,” the gymnast fired back.
