Olivia Dunne likely didn’t expect to be challenged over her recent Nautica promo shoot on Instagram. The 21-year-old LSU gymnast made headlines this month for adding to her rising portfolio of brand deals, with her latest gig seeing her signed to lifestyle and clothing brand Nautica.
Opting out of showing off her gymnastics skill, but still flaunting her figure, Olivia posed in skimpy swimwear bottoms and a sporty top, but it was the hanging hoop appearing to raise eyebrows in the comments. Beady-eyed fans have been picking the whole thing apart, with the drama kicked off by a user reminding Olivia that only male gymnasts use a hoop.
Olivia Dunne Debuts Latest Campaign On Instagram
In a post now topping 288,000 likes, Olivia opened her small gallery posing confidently in a block color pair of bikini bottoms in blue, red, and white. Flashing her toned abs and legs as she stood in a studio, the blonde had both her arms inside suspended wooden hoops, here giving a nod to her gymnast career.
Rocking a knotted yellow shirt with pops of red, white, and blue echoing the hues on her briefs, Olivia stunned the camera while sporting her blonde locks down. She also sent the camera a confident smile.
Big Questions About That Hoop
Fans got a navy blue matching set in the second photo as Dunne covered up a little more and wore sweatpants and a sweater, but she returned in the initial swim look for her closing photo.
Here, the New Jersey native lifted both arms up to a hoop as she wrote: “So excited to be the face of the Nautica Spring ‘24 collection.”
Over 400 fans have now liked a comment challenging the whole setup. “Do they know rings are only a men’s apparatus,” the user wrote. In a rare move, Olivia chose to respond to the fan. Getting sassy and proving she won’t tolerate hate, the beauty wrote: “I am a woman of many talents.” Fans loved that Dunne had gotten involved, with one user saying: “Great answer” as they tagged her Instagram handle.
That said, others seemed to be of the opinion that a female gymnast had no place posing with a ring. “I was just about to comment asking this, because I was pretty sure rings were one of the male-only events,” one fan wrote as they jumped in on the debate.
Olivia, who is followed by Olympic gymnast Simone Biles, also fronts Plantfuel, Vuori Clothing, and American Eagle. She is the most-followed NCAA athlete on social media.
