Half-Life: Alyx, the upcoming Half-Life VR game from Valve Software, now has a definitive release date. The game will release on March 23rd, 2020, on compatible VR consoles. This release date comes roughly three months after the initial reveal when the game was announced to be sometime in March. It looks like Valve is thankfully sticking to that, as any delays would’ve likely been announced by now. The news was announced on Valve’s official Twitter page.

Along with this reveal, Valve has released some new official screenshots of the game. You can see one just above, but there are two additional ones which you can find at the link here. Finally, Valve announced that the pre-order bonuses for the Valve Index will start rolling out on March 2nd. The first of those bonuses will be Steam VR Home environments inspired by Half-Life: Alyx. If you pre-ordered one of the VR headsets, we hope you enjoy these bonuses and the headset itself.

Valve shocked Half-Life fans back in November with the announcement of Half-Life: Alyx. The community hasn’t seen a new entry in the series since 2007, so there’s a lot of excitement behind this title. Set between the events of Half-Life 1 and 2, you play as series-favorite Alyx Vance. You and your father Eli are some of the last hopes for Earth against the Combine and must work with the resistance to find a weakness in the Combine’s plan. If any of this interests you, you can play it come March 23rd on any compatible VR headset. Pre-orderers of the Valve Index though, will get the entire game free along with some extras. You can purchase the game on its official Steam page.

Along with all of this, you can still play through all of the Half-Life games entirely free. This is the perfect time to get into it, with Half-Life: Alyx’s launch being only six weeks away. Have you played any of the Half-Life games? Will you be playing Half-Life: Alyx when it releases? Let us know, and stay tuned at The Nerd Stash for all your news, reviews, and more!
