Jamie Lee Curtis posted a sneak peek at Halloween Kills on her Twitter, dropping hints at how Michael Myers could have survived the events of Halloween. Halloween hit theaters in 2018 as a direct continuation of the 1978 slasher classic that ignored previous sequels.

Now, Blumhouse and Universal are producing Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends. These are co-written and directed by David Gordon Green, who did work on 2018’s Halloween. The release date for Halloween Kills is October 2020, and for the final sequel is set to hit theaters in October 2021. Production has already begun for Halloween Kills, coincidentally earlier this spooky month.

Jamie Lee Curtis will, of course, be reprising her role as Laurie Strode. She’ll be joined on-screen by Judy Greer and Andi Matichak, playing her daughter Karen and granddaughter Allyson. Michael Myers (James Jude Courtney and Nick Castle) will once again be after Strode, but otherwise, the plot is being kept tightly under wraps. It seemed Myers could not escape the trap Strode set up at the end of Halloween, but Curtis’ sneak peek seems to hint at him breaking out of the basement.

The video also shows Curtis on a stretcher, hinting that the new film takes place directly after the first. It seems to be shot from behind the scenes. Very briefly, fifteen seconds in, viewers can see Myers on the front porch of the burning house. Although this should not come as a surprise for fans of these horror films. Myers is, obviously, irreplaceable as a villain for the upcoming Halloween movies.

In the video, Curtis wishes everyone a happy Halloween. In stark contrast from the very unhappy Halloween Laurie Strode is having as she is taken away on a stretcher covered in blood. Fans will have to only wait a year to learn more, and then just another year for the conclusion of this trilogy.
