The next chapter in the Star Wars franchise has begun filming. Han Solo: Red Cup is the title that fans have been given as of now. I’m assuming that this title is a joke in reference to ‘red solo cups’. A Star Wars film named after a cup which is most associated with drinking alcohol out of? That doesn’t seem to be the way Disney wants to market their new film. Either way, I’m sure it’s just a big joke going around the studio, and we have nothing to worry about. Director Chris Miller and co-director Phil Lord wouldn’t be so giddy about filming a movie named after a joke, would they? I don’t think so.
The next installment of the Star Wars franchise stars Alden Ehrenreich as a young Han Solo. Donald Glover will star as Lando Calrissian. Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke is also a big name listed on the cast. Emilia Clarke’s role hasn’t been disclosed at this time. If anyone reading this article is curious about who Alden Ehrenreich is, then you needn’t worry. It’s quite the unknown name to be cast into a role with such high standards surrounding it. But Ehrenreich, who was first known for his role in Beautiful Creatures–a movie not received too well by critics–has recently played a big role in Hail Caeser!. Ethan and Joel Coen’s musical showed just how well Ehrenreich could really perform as an actor. As I said, I don’t think Star Wars fans have anything to worry about in regards to our next Han Solo.
There are still a lot of questions that fans have about the upcoming Han Solo movie. Like, what will the plot center around? There are rumors that Greedo, last seen dying on Tatooine by Han Solo’s blaster pistol, will make an appearance. Why the mystery surrounding Emilia Clarke’s character? There’s obviously something important about her. And, will we get to see an older version of the Millenium Falcon? This one has to be the most important question of them all. One thing we know for sure is that Han Solo didn’t make his last appearance in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. That fact radiates positivity.
