Being known as a local menace is probably not the path to fame most people would pursue, but that hasn’t stopped one alleged troublemaker in Austin, Texas. To some, he’s just a creepy stranger, but to Redditors on r/Austin, he’s become known as the infamous “Silver Lexus Man.” Reddit user Ok_Doughnut5071 is the latest victim of his repeatedly bizarre behavior of taking photos of other drivers’ cars. Needless to say, many find this concerning and disturbing.
“He strikes again,” Ok_Doughnut remarked in their post, adding how the silver Lexus owner had driven in front of them with his hazards on before snapping a picture. OP’s dashcam footage even shows he didn’t wait for them to stop at the red light before hopping out. “Almost as if he’s just trying to ragebait? That or it’s a fetish,” OP wrote, confused.

This wasn’t the first time the Silver Lexus Man has been a nuisance to locals in Austin. Back in April of this year, a post in the subreddit sparked conversation about him, with some believing the Lexus owner was some kind of scammer. In July, another person posted, claiming the same individual had randomly taken pictures of them and their license plate.
In one person’s post, posted a few weeks before Ok_Doughnut’s encounter, the Silver Lexus Man allegedly yelled, “You’re awesome!” before driving off after pointing his camera at them. Many people in the comments of these posts were livid, many accusing the man of being a pervert or having some sort of mental condition, though there’s no evidence to back these claims.
Regardless of whether people like him, they are invested and want to know exactly what the Lexus driver is up to. “I can’t wait for the dateline episode on this freak,” remarked a commenter. “This is obviously extremely odd behavior, and he appears to be seeking a confrontation,” pointed out another.
“He is going to do this to the wrong person and get shot. He is really testing his luck…” added a third. “I can’t take this anymore. Can someone please abandon their plans and follow this guy next time and figure out what is going on?” demanded a fourth.
Whether this mysterious local photographer is doing something illegal behind the scenes has yet to be proven. But still, what concerns most people, as Ok_Doughnut wrote: “he now has a photo of me…” The Silver Lexus Man is still at large in Austin, as his alleged photo library of license plates and people continues to grow.
