Helldivers! It is within the interests of Super Earth and its freedom-loving citizens, that all of you dress for the part in Helldivers 2. And while the rancid bile of Terminids might taint your uniforms, you must proudly sacrifice yourselves in style, for managed democracy! The good news is, you don’t have to sacrifice substance for style. The Ministry of Truth has determined the best armor in Helldivers 2— all of them a fusion of form and function. Any other opinion is bug-sympathizer propaganda.
CE-35 Trench Engineer
- Medium
- 30% Reduced recoil when crouching or prone
- +2 Grenades
The Trench Engineer sadly has what many Helldivers consider a “wasted” stat. The accuracy boost while crouching can do more harm than good. Because a stationary Helldiver is a dead Helldiver.
Thankfully, you’ll find plenty of uses for the additional grenades– highly useful in clearing bug holes. To obtain this armor, just unlock Page 3 of the Helldivers Mobilize! Warbond (the free one) and purchase it for 10 Medals (chest armor only).
FS-34 Exterminator
- Medium
- 30% Reduced recoil when crouching or prone
- 50% Increased explosive damage resistance
The FS-34 Exterminator armor is by far, the best armor you can wear in Helldivers if you’re like red lightsabers and hate Jedi scum. But it’s not just an edgy fashion statement.
Battlefield statistics report that the primary cause of friendly-fire-related deaths is explosives (needs citation). If anything, this will help you survive your squadmates. You’ll have to wait for it to appear in the Helldivers 2 Superstore, however, and it costs 400 SC (chest armor only).
CM-09 Bonesnapper
- Medium
- +2 Stims
- +2 Seconds to Stim effects
But if you’re really that concerned about getting back home in one piece, the CM-09 Bonesnapper should help you get there while in a drug-induced coma (which is an optimistic estimate). It’s all about giving you additional second chances on the battlefield.
This one is also quite cheap, and you only need to unlock Page 4 of the Helldivers Mobilize! Warbond (the free one) and purchase it for 15 Medals (chest armor only).
CE-74 Breaker
- Light
- 30% Reduced recoil when crouching or prone
- +2 Grenades
Consider this the more nimble version of the Trench Engineer armor in Helldivers 2. This time around, however, you get more benefits from the reduced recoil since you can still move faster even while crouched.
The grenades are also a lovely bonus that you can throw around more reliably now that you’re faster. Sadly, you’re going to have to wait for it to appear in the Helldivers 2 Superstore and it costs 250 SC (chest armor only).
DP-40 Hero of the Federation
- Medium
- 50% Chance not to die on lethal damage
- Prevents all bleeding damage from chest hemorrhage
Unlocking this one means you get a more distinguished look fitting of a veteran Helldiver. You’re also somewhat tankier, but don’t rely too much on that 50/50 chance to survive as chance is a fickle, unpatriotic mistress.
In any case, Helldiver, grab this shiny armor set on Page 5 of the Helldivers Mobilize! Warbond (the free one) and purchase it for 25 Medals (chest armor only).
SA-04 Combat Technician
- Medium
- Markers placed on the map will generate radar scans every 2.0s
- 30% Reduced enemy detection range
The SA-04 Combat Technician is a balanced middle ground between Light Scout armor perks and Medium defense/weight. It’s one of the best armor in Helldivers 2 if you want to maximize your chances of getting home.
It’s thankfully easily accessible on Page 8 of the Helldivers Mobilize! Warbond (the free one) and you can purchase it for 60 Medals (chest armor only).
FS-38 Eradicator
- Light
- 30% Reduced recoil when crouching or prone
- 50% Increased explosive damage resistance
Again, we reiterate the importance of being able to resist your squadmates’ transgressions (or frustrations) against you. The Eradicator lets you do so by resisting explosive damage and running away further from any rogue squadmates who plan to bring down the morale.
You can get the FS-38 Eradicator in the Helldivers 2 Superstore and it costs 250 SC (chest armor only). As is the case with most Superstore armor, you need to wait for it to appear in the rotation.
CM-21 Trench Paramedic
- Light
- +2 Stims
- +2 Seconds to Stim effects
Speaking of surviving the enemies of Super Earth, the CM-21 Trench Paramedic might just be better than the heavier Bonesnapper armor in Helldivers 2. Its main advantage is that it’s lighter.
Its main disadvantage is that you can only obtain it in the Superstore and it costs 250 SC (chest armor only). You’ll have to wait for it to appear in the Superstore rotation.
SC-30 Trailblazer Scout
- Light
- Markers placed on the map will generate radar scans every 2.0s
- 30% Reduced enemy detection range
If speed and stealth are the name of the game, then fulfill your commando dreams by donning the SC-30 Trailblazer Scout armor. It sacrifices a lot of defense just to ensure you can be above and beyond encounters. It’s best paired with a sniper weapon.
This one is rather easy to acquire and there’s no need to spend Super Credits. Just unlock Page 8 of the Helldivers Mobilize! Warbond (the free one) and you can purchase it for 50 Medals (chest armor only). While you’re at it, grab the helmet as well. It’s mysteriously elegant (and patriotic).
B-08 Light Gunner
- Light
- Higher armor rating (Medium armor)
It’s medium armor with the speed of light armor, what’s not to like? For that matter, the Light Gunner is also one of the fastest armor sets in Helldivers 2 and is tied for the Trailblazer Scout for speed and Stamina. The only downside is the timid serving of other stat bonuses, but nothing too crippling for this fast shock trooper armor.
It’s cheaper and more accessible than the other Superstore armor sets in Helldivers 2. You can buy the Light Gunner in the Helldivers 2 Superstore for 150 SC (chest armor only). It’s great for both dashing and defense, so you can retreat charge faster towards the enemy of democracy.
