The fight for liberty rages on, and this time, you’ll be rewarded handsomely with 50 Medals. All you have to do is unleash a pesticide on the border planets in the Helldivers 2 Major Order weekly event. But this is easier said than done, especially with squadmates constantly (and intentionally) calling an Orbital strike on your head. We’re here to guide your progress for Major Order in Helldivers 2.
How To Progress Major Order Stages
The mission is divided into three stages.
- Activate the Terminal
- Defend the three Silos
- Activate the silos and extract
Nothing eventful happens in Stage 1 and Stage 3, thankfully. You just push buttons during those stages. Consequently, the real difficulty is concentrated on defending the three silos which contain the pesticide delivery system.
Sadly, these silos are not marked on the map, so you have to look for them. They’re marked with their silo numbers, and the structures are pretty tall anyway. Hard to miss them; just ask the bugs.
Defending the Silo
Once you get to a specific silo, you have to press the button in the nearby terminal and defend the silo while it’s charging up.
The Terminids will attack the silo, of course, and you have to do your best to hold them off.
If the mission doesn’t feel like it’s progressing, that usually means you’re not defending the silo well enough. If the bugs do enough damage to the silo, the charging time will reset. You’ll have to press the silo button again and start from scratch.
The silo charging stability is indicated in three levels:
- Stable
- Unstable
- Critically Unstable
Once it gets past the Critically Unstable stage, the charge will be canceled. Terminid attacks on the silo will degrade its stability. If you’re successful, you and your squad will have to perform this silo defense two more times.
Once the hard part is over, you can head over to the extraction zone. Remember to activate the terminal in the extraction zone to finish the mission.
Tips for Defending the Silos
Those silos are real Reinforcement drains, so it’s important to be tactical with your decisions. You can easily use up all Reinforcements before you even successfully defend a single silo, depending on your team.
But here are some tips to help you progress the Major Order more smoothly through defending the silos.
- Spread out. Don’t stay in one spot. The silos are the priority, and the bugs must not touch them. Hence, either cover all four defensible directions in a silo or have one or two squadmates distract the bugs away from the silo.
- Bring Sentries and AoE weapons.
- Don’t stick too close to the silos, or the bugs might attack them.
- Don’t wander off if you’re defending the silo.
- Try to activate another silo while the bugs are distracted and are attacking a different silo.
As for the Medal rewards, you might have to wait until the end of the week to get them, depending on your war effort.
