Evo 2024 just came to an end after an onslaught of hype matches across the eight fighting games. This was the largest Evolution event in the tournament’s history, with well over 10,000 entries across all the fighting games. The ones that got the most love were Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and Guilty Gear Strive. The event took place over a single weekend in Las Vegas. With hype tournaments come hype reveals, and Evo 2024 had no shortage of exciting trailers.

We got reveals for upcoming fighting games along with content updates for existing fighters. Here is a list of all the exciting announcements and trailers we got during Evo 2024.

Capcom – Street Fighter 6 Terry Bogard World Tour Mode Trailer

Right before the start of the top 6 for Street Fighter 6, Capcom showed off a small in-game teaser trailer that revealed Terry Bogard. We already knew from the Season 2 reveal that Terry, Mai, M. Bison, and Elena will join the cast in 2024 and early 2025. We only got to see 2D renders of all the characters, and this is the first time we’ve gotten a chance to see Terry in action in the game.

As usual, we got the World Tour mode trailer first and will get the detailed gameplay trailer once his release date draws near. All we know for now is that Terry Bogard will join the Street Fighter 6 cast in autumn 2024. His design is reminiscent of his classic look from older Fatal Fury and King of Fighters games, and not like his redesign in the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

SNK Vs. Capcom: SvC Chaos Reveal & Shadow Drop Trailer

This one came completely out of the blue and is a far larger reveal than it might seem. SvC Chaos hints at the possibility of a future Capcom Vs. SNK title sometime down the line. This coupled with the Terry and Mai crossover into Street Fighter shows that both Capcom and SNK are working together once again.

SvC Chaos will not only come with 36 fighters, including the secret characters Athena and Red Arremer as well. The base game is exactly how it used to be, so be ready to experience the Groove system once again. New features include a new hitbox viewer in training mode, rollback netcode for online play, a Gallery to view all the game’s artworks, and more. SvC Chaos is already available on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. The Xbox version has gone amiss yet again like the Marvel Vs. Capcom Arcade Collection.

SNK – Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Kevin Rian Trailer

SNK continues to drip-feed character reveals for the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. The latest reveal during Evo 2024 was for David Rian, a police officer who has more than one way of delivering a beatdown. He is now the eighth character confirmed for the game.

King of Fighters XV

The already massive roster of The King of Fighters XV continues to grow with the addition of returning characters Vice and Mature. This means that all eight heads of the Orochi are now present in the game, which might imply that Orochi himself will join the roster in the future.

Bandai Namco – Tekken 8 Heihachi Trailer

Being a boss character like M. Bison, Heihachi also does not understand the meaning of death. He has once again come back to life, this time, after taking a swim in a volcano, as one does. His return to Tekken 8 might be explained once he comes out along with other Season 1 fighters, including Eddy Gordo and Lidia Sobieska.

That isn’t all, as Tekken 8 players will get the The Dark Awakens storyline expansion as well. The additional story content will be free for everyone, even those who don’t own the season pass.

Arc System Works – Guilty Gear Strive, Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact, & Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising

Arcsys had a ton of announcements to make during Evo 2024 because the Japanese developer has many hats in the FGC (Fighting Game Community) ring. Guilty Gear Strive got a Season 4 trailer that shows the characters coming to the game, which are Queen Dizzy, Venom, Unika, and Lucy, from Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners. The new season will also bring new colors for all characters, new stages, and a Team of 3 mode that looks like absolute chaos.

Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact

The upcoming Hunter x Hunter Nen Impact looks better and better with each trailer, and this one is no exception. The Evo 2024 Meruem reveal trailer showed off the new character along with the game’s launch trailer, which shows the entire base roster. The game is still planned for a 2024 release, but that may move to early 2025 unless we see major developments soon.

Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising

Versusia was revealed during Evo 2024, and we got a gameplay trailer that showed off her abilities and combos. She is a multi-armed goddess and will come out in August 2024, along with the major update that will shake up the game’s meta.

Evo 2024 had a ton of great matches and its fair share of upsets, and the reveal trailers we got for all our favorite fighters were just icing on the fireball-flavored cake.
