There are loads of Side Quests you can do for Deek in Hogwarts Legacy, like the Foal of the Dead Side Quest. This quest is a pretty fun one that actually unlocks the ability to breed your beasts. Though, this quest can be completed fairly quickly if you don’t account for the time it takes for your beasts to finish breeding. You also will get another Vivarium for your Room of Requirement in the process, so this is a great Side Quest to complete. How to Complete Foal of the Dead in Hogwarts Legacy
Before you begin, you’ll want to make sure that you’re at least Level 20 and you have already completes the Charles Rockwood’s Trial Main Quest.
Speak to Deek in the Room of Requirement
When you reach the Room of Requirement and speak to Deek, he’ll tell you that he would like for you to breed a Thestral. He’ll send you out to tame a pair of Thestrals, both male and female. However, if you’ve already got them tamed, then you don’t need to worry about that portion of the Side Quest.
Purchase a Breeding Pen Spellcraft
Head into Hogsmeade and visit Tomes and Scrolls. Once you’re there, you can purchase the Breeding Pen Spellcraft for 1,000 Galleons.
Return to Deek
When you return back to Deek, he will tell you to head inside your new Vivarium and spawn in the new Breeding Pen the same way you did for all the other stations in your Room of Requirement, using the Conjuring Spell.
Breed Thestrals
Once you’ve conjured up your Breeding Pen, it’s time to breed your Thestrals. Make sure that both of your Thestrals are in the Vivarium that contain the Breeding Pen and walk up to the book connected to the Breeding Pen. Select the Thestrals you want to breed and begin the process.
You’ll have to wait 30 minutes for the Thestrals to complete the process. Once they are finished, feed and brush the offspring.
Return to Deek
Head back to Deek to complete the quest. He will reward you with 180 XP.
