You can complete loads of Side Quests in Hogwarts Legacy, like the ‘Mer-Ky’ Depths Side Quest at the Boathouse. This quest is picked up from Nerida Roberts, an excited student who has dabbled with speaking to the mer-people of the Black Lake. However, they have given her a gift, and she can’t quite get it herself, as she can’t swim. That’s where you come in. How to Complete the ‘Mer-Ky’ Depths Side Quest in Hogwarts Legacy
You’ll need a couple of things to make sure you’ve accomplished before you can begin this Side Quest. First, you must ensure you have completed Percival Rackham’s Trial Main Quest, and finally, you must be at least Level 10.
Now, head on over to the Boathouse in order to start.
Speak to Nerida Roberts
Nerida will be sitting at the docks outside the Boathouse within the Great Hall portion of the map. Speak to her, and she will ask you to retrieve her mermaid artifact from Leaky Caves.
Find the Leaky Caves
For this portion of the Side Quest, you’ll have to Swim out into the Black Lake and dive down into a whirlpool within the water. Once you’re inside, climb up into the cave.
Find and Collect the Mermish Artifact
When you arrive inside the cave, you’ll find that there is a door locked with a Moth Puzzle.
All 3 Moths will be inside the room you’re standing in, but two will be inaccessible as spiderwebs are covering them. In order to break the spiderwebs, you will have to cast one of your Fire-Based Spells to disintegrate the webs. Once you’ve done this, you can cast your Lumos Spell to attract each moth and bring them to the door.
Once all 3 moths are in the door, it will unlock to reveal a chest holding the Mermish Artifact. Collect the Artifact and head back to Nerida.
Speak to Nerida Roberts
Nerida will be very pleased with your work and will reward you with Appearance Items and 180 XP.
