If you plan on getting 100% completion in Hogwarts Legacy, then you will have to learn how to complete The Hippogriff Marks the Spot. The Hippogriff Marks the Spot is a side quest that isn’t given by an NPC. In order to complete the quest, you will have to pick up a map from a chest within the game, then follow the map to the location of the treasure, then solve a puzzle in order to get the treasure. The quest can be tricky, since you have to follow a map rather than quest objectives. Keep reading to learn how to complete The Hippogriff Marks the Spot in Hogwarts Legacy.

How to Complete The Hippogriff Marks the Spot in Hogwarts Legacy

Before you begin the quest, you will want to make sure that you are at least Level 13 and you have completed Tomes and Tribulations. Then, head over to Poidsear Castle.

Retrieve the Rolled Parchment from the Table in Poidsear Castle

Once you defeat the many enemies that surround the area, head inside and you will find a rolled parchment sit-in on a table. Collect the parchment and look at it. This is Henrietta’s Map, which you will be using to find the treasure.

The Hideaway can be found in Manor Cape, below the manor.

Defeat the Enemies

Once you’re inside, you will be faced with two waves of enemies and a couple of simple puzzles. First, defeat any enemies in your path.

Puzzle #1

When you come to the first puzzle, you will see two circles on the ground with spell symbols on them. Light the fire in front of the statue to your left to reveal a cube that must be placed on the corresponding circle. Using Wingardium Leviosa, move both cubes to their circles and cast the spells that they show on them on each cube. This will open the doorway to the next puzzle.

Puzzle #2

Following the pattern of lit fires on the map, light the fires surrounding the Hippogriff Statue in the middle of the room after you’ve cleared out all the enemies. The fires should be lit in the North, West, East, and Southeast of the statue.

Get the Treasure

Once you light the fires in the correct order, the passage containing the treasure chest will open up.

Jordan is an experienced fantasy writer who spends hours behind her laptop, and lost in the pages of a book. She strives to be a successful gaming blogger, and has no complaint about the hours of game time she used to increase her knowledge of all things “geek”. She primarily writes gaming articles and fantasy novels. Ark: Survival Evolved is a favorite, along with Diablo 3, Warframe and Minecraft lately, though you can’t forget the good old Magic the Gathering card game! Writing about games truly gives her joy as it gives her another perspective to look at games from, a reason to really look into the mechanics of the game.
