Having many options to tweak and upgrade your character is common in all good RPG games, and Hogwarts Legacy is also one of them. While you have the usual upgrading, there is also the Talents mechanism that will have a direct impact on your experience.
After progressing a bit in the game, you will get across the Jacdaw’s Rest quest. At the end of this quest, you will unlock the Talents in Hogwarts Legacy and also spend some upgrading.
Leveling up after reaching level 5, you will also get a talent point to can spend in the Talents section of the game. In Talents, you can spend your points on different passive attributes.
Talents are divided into five categories: Spells, Dark Arts, Core, Stealth, and Room of Requirement. The game explains what each of these talents does in the game, and if you have a piece of prior knowledge about the lore of Harry Potter, then you can guess what they do by their name.
Still, for those who are new to the Wizarding World, here is a quick explanation for every talent:
- Spells – Improves your character’s Spell power
- Core – Improves your character’s overall state like health
- Stealth – Improves abilities to hide and move unnoticed
- Dark Arts – Improves your character’s Dark Art curses
- Room of Requirement – Improves the usage of Room of Requirement
Depending on your playstyle, you can spend your talent points in different categories. For instance, if you prefer to mostly engage in combat and use stealth seldom, then it is best to put most of your points in the Core and Spells section of Talents.
