One of the few quests that differs from one house to another in Hogwarts Legacy is the quest regarding Richard Jackdaw. The Hunt for the Missing Pages is exclusive to players who choose or end up in Gryffindor. You will get notified that Nearly Headless Nick wants to speak with you and the quest will start after speaking with him. It can be a bit confusing to figure out, so here is a full walkthrough of this complicated quest.
How to Complete the Hunt for the Missing Pages in Hogwarts Legacy
After you unlock the Trials of Merlin in the game, speak with Eldritch Diggory who will point you toward Nearly Headless Nick. This quest is about the missing pages of a back that Richard Jackdaw found.
Nearly Headless Nick will be waiting for you near the house point hourglasses. Sir Nicholas knows you are looking for the missing pages so he decides to help you, but first, you must do a favor for him. For now, you must simply follow him until you reach the kitchen of Hogwarts where elves are preparing food. Sir Nicholas will ask you to get him a Rotten Roast Beef.
To reach the kitchen, you must tickle the pear on the painting for a few seconds in order to open the door. The Rotten Roast Beef is located at the right back end of the kitchen on a wooden barrel. Take beef back to Sir Nicholas and he will take you to the Headless Hunt’s Game being held in Hogsmeade’s cemetery.
Play the Headless Hunt’s Game
Once you arrive at the cemetery, a cutscene will play and in it, Sir Nicholas will give the beef to Sir Patrick and leave you. Then follow the marker on your map until you reach the Headless Hunt’s Game. You must participate in this game in order to find Richard Jackdaw.
The head of Jackdaw is inside a pumpkin, so you must smash it until you can get your hands on it. There will be 5 pumpkins you must smash until you find Jackdaw’s head. These will be big pumpkins that slightly moves when you close to them. Rivilio won’t be helpful here so must find them yourself. The pumpkin the ghost will choose will be random, but if you are quick, you can follow the ghost to narrow down your search area.
Once you finally catch up with the ghost five times, he will give you Jackdaw’s head. Then he will give information regarding the missing pages and that’s where the Hunt for the Missing Pages will end and then the next quest will start.
