Honey Boo Boo‘s college life isn’t going according to plan. The reality star hoped to start this new chapter of her life with her boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, by her side. After getting accepted into a Colarodao university last year, the Toddlers & Tiara alum revealed she and Carswell would co-habit and start their lives as a family. Unfortunately, their dream is facing some hurdles due to his troubled financial past.
Honey Boo Boo cried for help over her housing situation in a TikTok uploaded over the weekend. The 18-year-old admitted that her post was a “long shot,” but she had no more options. She revealed that the temporary housing she and Carswell have been living in since moving to Colorado last year will expire on September 1, 2024. Although they have been “looking up and down, any and everywhere” for a house, it has been to no avail. The reason? Carswell‘s financial history. She told fans:
“The main problem is that Dralin has student loans on his credit, and the balance is greater than $1,000, so they will not accept our application.”
The reality star, whose real name is Alana Thompson, also has financial baggage of her own. She noted that her credit score wasn’t high enough to rent a place. “Alana has no credit. Alana has zero credit. Alana’s trying to build her credit, but literally zero. Zilch,” she confessed. However, she assured fans that she and Carswell already make enough, so paying the rent isn’t the issue.
Getting emotional, the TLC star lamented, “Quite frankly, I’m starting to freak out that we do not have a house to move into…I need help. My Denver peeps, I need help.”
‘The Boyfriend Can Go Back Home,’ Fans Advise Honey Boo Boo
Honey Boo Boo’s post was immediately reposted by her mother, Mama June, who asked her fans to help out. Unfortunately, the responses were far from positive. Fans heavily criticized the young adult for complicating her life by choosing to live with her boyfriend. “Maybe think about your future self, stop worrying about Dralin, and stay in student housing,” one fan warned. “Stop relying on a man(your first boyfriend at that!!!)” Another similar comment read, “Can you live on campus? The boyfriend can go back home to Georgia.” A third disappointed follower penned:
“You need to send that man home. I think it’s more than credit. I think it’s the criminal history of her boyfriend also. Y’all want to play grown so bad. Who takes a man to college with them???”
Others believed there was more to the story than she let on. Regardless, the time is ticking on Honey Boo Boo and Draswell’s college fairytale love.
