Honkai Star Rail has several different classes for its characters with each class specializing in something different. One of these Honkai Star Rail classes is the “Harmony” class, a group of characters dedicated to buffing allies and increasing their damage output. Generally, these characters are some of the most desired in the game, as they have a strong influence in making sure your damage dealers can put out the highest damage possible. Here are all of the Harmony characters ranked in Honkai Star Rail.
7: Yukong
Yukong has a high ceiling and potentially some of the strongest buffs in the game. However, it is very difficult to keep her buff up and requires some intense speed tuning of your units to ensure that your DPS can keep the buffs Yukong provides. Yukong’s value increases when you obtain her sixth Eidolon, as this makes it somewhat easier for her buffs to stay active.
Generally, it’s easier to slot in another character who can provide similar buffs, as Yukong is just a little too difficult to practically use. She’s skill-point hungry, and she requires high investment in not just Yukong, but your other units as well, as you’ll need to make sure everyone’s SPD is in proper order. However, Yukong is still strong if you manage to build her properly.
6: Asta
Asta is a free-to-play Harmony character that all players receive at least one copy of for free. The main draw to Asta is her ability to greatly buff the SPD of all of your characters by at least 50. This allows your characters to gain more actions, which indirectly leads to higher damage. Asta’s other offensive buffs as quite poor, only moderately increasing the ATK of your team.
Asta can also work in a Fire team as she provides a Fire DMG Bonus through her traces. Her performance is inconsistent, as her ATK buff increases when there are more enemies on the field AND if the enemy has a Fire weakness. Generally, Asta is a fine option, especially if you’re a free-to-play player without access to some of the stronger Harmony characters in the game.
5: Hanya
Hanya is an interesting Harmony unit as she can generate a small number of skill points for allies while also boosting their ATK and SPD. In terms of pure damage buffing, Hanya is probably the second weakest next to Asta. She can buff single-target damage moderately well through her Skill, as she marks enemies with a debuff that increases the damage they take.
Hanya reaches her strongest point at Eidolon 4, as this increases the length of her Ultimate’s ATK and SPD buff. You’ll want to at least reach this Eidolon before using this character over other Harmony characters, as this will allow Hanya’s buffs to last longer and make her Ultimate usage a little more generous.
4: Tingyun
Tingyun is one of the stronger Harmony characters in the game and is arguably at a 5-star level of usefulness. Her Skill provides a useful ATK buff and some additional damage, and her Ultimate provides a strong flat DMG increase to your attacks. But Tingyun’s greatest strength is her ability to provide Energy to your teammates, allowing them to use their Ultimates faster.
For characters who heavily rely on their Ultimate for damage (Jing Yuan is a great example), Tingyun is an essential team member in making sure these characters fire off their Ultimates as much as possible. Her usefulness increases as you gain more Eidolons, as she can provide SPD buffs, additional energy, and stronger DMG buffs.
3: Ruan Mei
Ruan Mei is just slightly weaker than the second-best option, but the value Ruan Mei brings to your team is invaluable. Aside from providing valuable damage buffs, she can increase the Weakness Break Efficiency of your team, allowing you to break the weaknesses of all enemies faster. This is incredibly useful in delaying enemy moves and increasing the damage your team deals.
She’s also an SP-positive character, meaning she will generate more Skill Points than she uses. This is useful compared to some other Harmony characters who might have to use more Skill Points than desired to buff your teammates.
2: Bronya
Bronya is the standard Harmony 5-star character, but her strengths are undeniable. Her Action Forward is incredibly potent, immediately allowing a character to act and significantly increasing their damage. Her Ultimate also provides Crit DMG buffs, allowing your characters to deal some explosive damage. Not to mention, her Skill also cleanses, ensuring that there’s no downtime for your DPS attacks.
Her main weakness is how SP-hungry she is, as she’s constantly firing off her Skill to Action Forward teammates. This can be offset by her first Eidolon as well as her Light Cone, which players can buy for free after a certain amount of time.
1: Sparkle
Sparkle is generally useful on all teams. She brings potent SP generation to the table, with her Ultimate generating a high number of Skill Points. She has numerous ways to buff ally Crit DMG, which is one of the best ways to increase a character’s damage output. She’s an easy character to slot into teams that have high Skill Point usage, such as Qingque or Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae teams.
Sparkle synergizes with other SP-hungry Harmony Honkai Star Rail characters as well. Combining Sparkle and Bronya in one team for characters like Blade will synergize incredibly well, providing some of the highest damage buffs you can imagine for your hypercarries.
