Honkai Star Rail “A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant” Quest is part of the “Topclouded Towerthrust” Trailblaze Mission. Taking place in Xianzhou Luofu, you, Jing Yuan, and Dan Heng are tasked to head into the depths of the Roots of the Arbor. To complete “A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant,” you’ll have to clear a puzzle by removing three Vidyadhara seals. How To Clear “A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant” Puzzle in Honkai Star Rail
1. Head Inside the Ancient Vidyadhara Ruins
The first objective in “A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant” is to step into the ancient Vidyadhara ruins. After going down the stairs, you’ll hear the Vidyadhara high elder and two old voices arguing about using the Scalegorge Waterscape to seal the Arbor. Listen to the lore and continue walking down the path. You will stumble upon a puzzle involving the three Vidyadhara seals.
2. How to Remove the Three Vidyadhara Seals in Honkai Star Rail “A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant”
To finish the second objective of “A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant,” you have to remove three groups of Vidyadhara seals.
- First, head to the northernmost part of Scalegorge Waterscape and defeat the Malefic Ape there. Beat it, and it will drop the Revelation Slate item, which is the hint you need to remove the seals.
- For the first group of the Vidyadhara seals, you need to touch four Ceremonial Lamps in ascending order following the Revelation Slate’s hint.
- Now head to the southwestern part of Scalegorge Waterscape. There’s no enemy to beat for the hint, but there are murals that you can investigate.
- The order for the four Ceremonial Lamps can be found by following the Vidyahara life cycle:
- Hatching Rebirth.
- Guidance from Kin.
- Departure.
- Return to Sea.
- For the last Vidyadhara seal, go to the southeastern part of the area.
- The proper sequence of the Ceremonial Lamps can be easily identified by looking at the blue lights on the lamp’s tiles. Start touching the lamps in ascending order; from one blue light to four lights.

3. Defeat the Phantylia Boss to Complete Honkai Star Rail “A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant”
Apparently, Phantylia has taken over the Ambrosial Arbor. Now it’s your job to defeat her. Jing Yuan should be available as your Main DPS. It’s best to pair him with a Wind element party member to deal area-of-effect damage, such as Blade. Phantylia also has the Prana-Siphon attack that can remove 1/4 of your team’s HP. For that reason, bringing along Shielder or Healer can be beneficial. Bailu or March 7th are highly recommended.
Once Phantylia is defeated, Jing Yuan and Dan Heng will finish her off in a cutscene. Completing “A Dragon Gallant, Its Ocean Distant” Trailblazer Mission in Honkai Star Rail will reward you with The Arbor Snaps Achievement. The quest is also a prerequisite for two Companion Quests:
- Yukong: “For I Have Touched the Sky.”
