Stories about strange and sometimes dangerous objects turning up in food don’t seem to be slowing down. Unfortunately, this latest case is one of the more alarming examples. A woman in Georgia was left stunned after discovering a rusty metal needle embedded in raw chicken she purchased from Food Depot. According to her account, the discovery happened while she was cutting the chicken at home. Realizing something was wrong, she began recording as she examined the needle, clearly trying to process what she was seeing. She later showed the packaging, identifying the chicken as coming from Spring Mountain Farms.
“This is disgusting,” she said in the video, zooming in on the contaminated piece. The needle’s rust made it obvious it hadn’t been placed there recently, even leaving a dark mark on the meat, which is a detail that only added to how unsettling the situation was.
Unfortunately, the Georgia woman’s nightmare didn’t stop at finding the metal needle. She ended up going to the hospital because she had a panic attack. She also had to receive a tetanus shot because she pricked her finger. After she returned home from the hospital, she took the chicken with her and went to Food Depot once again. She started showing customer service the metal needle, and they asked her for a receipt. Since she left it at home, they couldn’t look up the purchase. What the employee she was speaking to did, though, was repeat “That’s crazy” several times. He then used a glove to take out the needle, and it was clear that it was imprinted there. Since this video, the woman hasn’t provided any updates about what she did next. It won’t be surprising if she decides to sue whoever is responsible.
People Reacting to the Georgia Woman’s Shocking Discovery
People were just as horrified as the Georgia woman after they saw the metal needle. Since this was dangerous and also harmed her, dozens encouraged her to sue. “Call a lawyer, congratulations and happy new year,” one person wrote, hinting at how the woman could win a settlement. Aside from telling her to sue, some people doubted her story. As someone accused her of putting the needle there, another person defended the woman and said, “It’s literally solidified in there. The natural moisture of the chicken has caused rust to form on the metal and the bacteria from whoever handled the tool began to form mold. What other proof can we possibly offer? I guess you can wait for the lawsuit ruling to be public…”
Under the Georgia woman’s video, some people were quick to make the situation political. Many blamed Republicans and Trump for things like this happening. “Remember this next time you think you should vote for a republican. NEVER VOTE FOR REPUBLICANS,” one person wrote. Another person then replied, “This type of thing goes on no matter who’s in office. It’s on the companies for being absolutely careless for years & years.” Others were quick to disagree, though, as someone else said, “Trump stopped funding for food checks.. so it’s going to happen at an exceptional rate. Hope that helps.” The most important thing here is that the woman doesn’t get sick.
