Have you found yourself curious about how many Machetes can take down a Wood Door in Rust? Well, you aren’t alone. Rust contains numerous weapons you can craft, including the Machete. Besides fighting island inhabitants with it, weapons like the Machete can also tear through shelters. If you’ve tried to knock down a Wooden Door in Rust using Machetes, you’ve noticed that one alone doesn’t cut it. Instead, you’ll need multiple as they’ll wear down and break. We’ll figure out how many Machetes you’ll go through for a Wood Door.

Without shelter, you won’t make it far in Rust. Of course, that just means you’ll break through other shelters when battling against enemy survivors. You’ll explore several building tiers in the game as you gather supplies, and the Wood Tier is the third, following the Twig Tiers. It’s not the strongest, but it’s better than nothing.

Although Wooden-based structures aren’t the strongest in Rust, Machetes are not known as the best against Wood Doors. Before we understand how much it takes to break, let’s look at the stats for Wooden Doors and Machetes.

In Rust, a Machete features the following basic stats:

  • Damage: 35
  • DPS: 35
  • Throw Damage: 20
  • Range: 1.5
  • Attack Speed: 60 HPM

There’s no denying that Machetes have their uses in Rust, but that doesn’t transfer to a Wood Door. Machetes already cause damage of around 15 HP to trees. When it comes to Wooden Doors, Machetes can cause damage anywhere between 13 to 14 HP.

Now, let’s focus on the wear and tear on the Machete. The weapon will lose durability as you use it. So, you will wind up going through around 15 Machetes just to break a Wood Door in Rust. That number increases if the Wooden Door is open since it has even more durability.

As we’re on the topic of Machetes and Wooden Doors in Rust, let’s talk about crafting them. Machetes are good starter weapons in the game as they don’t require much to make, and they can handle standard jobs like Barrel farming.

Below is all you need to craft Machetes:

  • x100 Wood
  • x40 Metal Fragments

As for Wooden Doors, you will want them at the beginning to improve your shelter. As you gain more resources, however, you will eventually want to move on to other materials like Stone and Sheet Metal. It’s because other weapons like Molotov Cocktails and Guns can break it with ease.

To craft Wooden Doors, you only need x300 Wood. It takes less than 1 minute to craft.
