After entering the villa as one of the favorites, Christina Mandrell left the season early, and The Bachelor fans reacted to her early exit. Christina was the first contestant to get a one-on-one date with Zach — a feat she never let the other women hear the end of throughout her stay on the show. And this understandably caused some issues with the women.
Eventually, Brooklyn Willie had to call her out when she brought it up again at a group date after the party. Meanwhile, Christina’s behavior also profoundly affected the confidence of Bailey Brown and Brianna Thorbourne. However, Bailey’s eventual elimination happened on the group date after revealing her doubts about their future to Zach.
While most of the other women were sad to watch her leave, Christina did not care less, which further upset the women. The final straw came when Zach decided to give the group date rose to Charity Lawson. Christina openly showed her frustration at not getting the rose — thereby ruining the moment for Charity, who couldn’t hold back her tears.
When Brianna — who had previous tension with Christina — heard about the Charity incident, she couldn’t take any more of the toxicity. Later, at a pool party Zach hosted for the girls, Brianna informed him of her decision to leave, but not before telling him about Christina’s nasty behavior.
Zach confronted Christina, who quickly denied the claims and explained the girls misunderstood her. Zach was surprised by the revelations, but when he asked some of the ladies, they backed it up. In the end, Zach decided not to give her a rose at the rose ceremony. Although it was hard for him, it was the correct thing to do.
The Bachelor Fans Feel Zach Didn’t Want A Step-Child
The Bachelor season 27 has thrown a few surprises at viewers, but none was as unexpected as the sudden elimination of single mom Christina on the February 6 episode of the show. The elimination sent fans into a meltdown, and many of them have been giving their thoughts on what went down.
In a viral tweet, The Bachelor alum Christen Whitney tweeted that Christina’s elimination had more to do with Zach not being ready to be a stepdad than a girl feeling “unsafe.” Christina has a six-year-old daughter Blakely — who she welcomed with her ex-husband Blake Dennis. The two tied the knot in 2015 after dating for more than three years. However, Christina filed for divorce in December 2020, but it took till March 2021 before the couple finalized it.
Many of the fans took to Reddit to react to Christen’s tweet. Most fans agreed with her thoughts in a thread showing a screenshot of the tweet but pointed out he was not in the wrong. One fan wrote:
“To be fair, bro is 26. I don’t think you could blame him for not wanting to be a stepdad regardless.”
The Bachelor Fans Blame Christina Mandrell’s Immaturity on Her Eviction
Although many fans agreed with Christen’s tweet, they were all quick to defend his decision. Most of The Bachelor fans claimed Christina’s behavior made it quite easy for him to let her go. Many fans highlighted the scene where Zach confronted her with Brianna’s claim and faulted her for her response.
They felt she could have taken more responsibility for her actions and shown some remorse or willingness to apologize. Instead, she put everything on having a big personality. Fans found that response cringeworthy and blamed her for displaying a shocking immaturity despite being a mom.
One Redditor claimed:
“No he could tell in that situation how immature she was. He said he doesn’t want drama & she’s a drunk haha see ya in paradise Christina.”
Christina also had a meltdown following Zach’s confrontation, where she kept screaming “help me” in tears, and some of the fans found that to be a bit dramatic. Interestingly, Zach warned her during the conversation that he did not care for drama. For some commenters, there was just too much drama around Christina, and it was only a matter of time before she got sent packing.
