Margit the Fell Omen Boss Walkthrough in Elden Ring
In Elden Ring, Margit the Fell Omen is a very difficult boss; he can catch you off guard with his delayed hits and unexpected moves. In addition, if you get too hasty and think you can get one more hit in, you can pay dearly for it. Therefore, waiting for the right moment and being patient is essential in this boss fight. Before going into battle with Margit the Fell Omen, there are some preparations you must make; let’s talk a little bit about them.
Before fighting the boss, make sure to level up at least 3-5 levels and go for the Vigor. This way, you will have a much more health bar than before. Then collect enough Smithing Stones to make your weapon at least +2; there are plenty of Smithing Stones you can collect in the early stages of the game. You can use the Smithing Table in Church of Elleh if you don’t have access to Roundtable Hold yet.
Then, you should head to the Third Church of Marika. To find it, follow the road from the Gatefront Site of Grace and take the left after the bridge. You will eventually reach the Third Church of Marika, where you will find the Crimson Crystal Tear along with the Flask of Wonderous Physick item you will need throughout the game. This Crystal Tear will completely fill half of your main health, so you can think of it as an extra Crimson Flask.
Then, just down this path in Minor Erdtree, you can find Greenspill Crystal Tear and Spiked Cracked Tear, which increase your Stamina. You can adjust these Crystal Tears to your needs from the “Mix Wondrous Physick” option on the resting screen. Our recommendation would be to use Crimson Crystal Tear and Greenspill Crystal Tear.
Finally, from the First Step Site of Grace, go to the right, and you will see a lake. Go through this lake, and after passing under the bridge you will reach Murkwater Cave. The key item you need to beat Margit the Fell Omen in Elden Ring is located here. After entering the cave, go through the fog and open the Chest. This action will trigger a mini-boss fight with an NPC named Patches. After reducing his health by half, spare him and Rest at the Site of Grace and come back again.
Buy the item Margit’s Shackle, which he sells for 5,000 Runes. In Elden Ring, Margit’s Shackle item allows you to pin Margit to the ground twice in a fight, but only in the First Phase. Doing this gives you a huge advantage for extra damage. After Melina gives you the Torrent, return to the Church of Elleh, where you will meet Renna and get the Spirit Calling Bell item. Renna will also give you Lone Wolf Ashes, which will help you beat Margit the Fell Omen in the Elden Ring.
When you get to the door of Margit the Fell Omen boss in Elden Ring, you will see a yellow sign on the ground just to the right of the entrance. Summon Sorcerer Rogier from there, then immediately summon Lone Wolf Ashes after the cutscene. If you have a Shield that can Parry, you can easily Parry Margit. Otherwise, you can deal him Poise Damage by constantly doing Heavy Jump Attack while he is on Wolves and Rogier. In this way, you will deal with Critical Damage to Margit. When Margit the Fell Omen uses short-hit combos, try to dodge behind him. If it looks like he is going for a long hit, run away from him. Use Margit’s Shackle when the boss back leaps and hit it with all you got until it gets off the ground.
If you choose the Astrologer class, you will automatically have the Glintstone Pebble spell, and you can exploit it against Margit. If you have a Glintstone Pebble spell, it would be wise to decrease the Crimson Flask and increase the Cerulean Flask, as it consumes a lot of FP, and you will not get close to the boss. Thanks to Flask of Wondrous Physick, your Stamina regeneration will be faster, and you’ll have extra health replenishment. Finally, never go greedy hits and wait patiently for Margit to give you an opening.
