After facing Rude and Elena, the group gets separated again, with Red XIII and Barret falling to the lowest level of the Mythril Mine. The two must find their way back up, but they accidentally awaken a sleeping giant at the end of the tunnel. The monster does not seem to be open to discussion, and you must beat Mythril Golem to reunite with Cloud and the others inย Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Mythril Golem is a tough boss to beat since it is extremely resistant to physical attacks. You must damage its head first so it will be more vulnerable against direct and ranged attacks.

Here are Mythril Golem attributes in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth:

  • Weakness: Lightning
  • Lesser Resistance: Fire, Ice, and Sleep
  • Greater Resistances: Physical
  • Absorbed Elements: None
  • Immunities:
    • Proportional Damage
    • Berserk
    • Slow
    • Poison
    • Silence
    • Stone
    • Petrify
    • Morphable Items

During this boss battle, you can only use Red XIII and Barret. I recommend playing as Barret first since he can easilyย hit Mythril Golem’s head with his Gattling Gun. You canย use Electric Impulse and Lightning magicย toย pressureย the boss, and once it is staggered, you can shift to Red XIII and unleash physical attacks.

Don’t forget to unlock Red XIII and Barret’s Synergy Abilities before facing Mythril Golem in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. United Refocus can increase the maximum number of ATB Gauges to three, while Overfang can raise their Limit Level.

Despite being made of rocks, Mythril Golem is quite nimble and has fast leaping attacks that can deal some serious damage. The boss also has a quick sweep attack that can throw your characters into the air. I recommendย keeping your distanceย when using Barret since he is relatively slow compared to the boss.

Bringing Titan into this boss battle is also a good idea, especially if you have discovered all three Divine Insights in the Grasslands. While Mythril Golem is not weak against the Earth element, it is more effective than physical attacks.

In the second phase, Mythril Golem will absorb more rocks and create a sharp spine and a right hand. Each new appendage has its own HP bar, and you should destroy them first to prevent the monster from hitting you with deadly moves.
