This article is over 1 years old and may contain outdated information.

After the confusing and dangerous journey in Penacony’s dreamland, you finally face the mastermind behind these events. Sunday is a powerful Honkai Star Rail boss with two distinct phases: Harmonious Choir and Embryo of Philosophy. Despite looking like an angel, he will not show mercy to you and wields AoE abilities that can kill all your units. You must bring a proper team that can quickly break his Toughness bars to survive.

Honkai Star Rail Sunday Boss Fight Guide

Sunday is a Level 82 Story and Weekly Boss, which means all your units should be at Level 80 to beat him. He has three health bars and will enter his second form when he has one bar left.

Best Teams for Sunday Boss Fight

The main mechanic to beat the Sunday boss fight in Honkai Star Rail is breaking his Toughness Bars. Unlike most enemies, he has several bars, which range from three to nine. It would be best to bring units that can exploit the Break Effect.

If you are fighting the story version, then you must bring Harmony Trailblazer. Luckily, they are the perfect support character for this battle since they can buff the team’s Break Effect.

Here is the best F2P team you can use to beat Sunday in Honkai Star Rail:

  • DPS: Serval
  • Support: Harmony Trailblazer and Asta
  • Healer: Gallagher

Gallagher is the best 4-star healer for this fight since he has AoE attacks with a Fire Element. For your main DPS, I suggest using Serval since she has a powerful Lightning element Skill attack. Harmony Trailblazer and Asta will be your support units, buffing the team and dealing damage when possible.

Although the F2P team will be able to beat the Sunday boss fight, you will have an easier time with 5-star units. Here is my recommendation for the best premium team to use to defeat Sunday:

  • DPS: Acheron
  • Support: Harmony Trailblazer and Ruan Mei
  • Tank: Aventurine

This team focuses on Break Effect with Harmony Trailblazer and Ruan Mei buffing the team. Acheron is already powerful on her own, but she can deal even more damage with the two support units. I prefer Aventurine over Fu Xuan because the Sunday boss can deal a ton of damage. Unless you have beefy characters with over 5k HP, it’s better to bring a tank than a healer.

During the first phase of the Sunday boss fight, you should try to use AoE attacks so you can hit the four singers while focusing on Harmonious Choir. The most dangerous move during this section is the Volteggiando, which can damage your whole team. You can prevent Sunday from performing this ability by breaking the Toughness bars of the four singers.

Of course, your main goal is still to hit Sunday and remove his Toughness bars. You will obtain a team-wide shield that can absorb the majority of damage whenever you break the boss’ Toughness bar. So, it’s crucial that you bring units with Fire, Lightning, or Imaginary elements to this boss fight.

Phase 2 – “Embryo of Philosophy” Sunday

When Sunday shifts into his Embryo of Philosophy form, he will become vulnerable to all elements. You should act as aggressively as possible since you need to get a ton of shield before he casts his ultimate attack named ‘Im Anfang war die Tat.’

Remember to unleash Horizon’s Echo From Afar and use the train to damage or break Sunday’s Toughness bars. I recommend having at least a 6k shield if you want to survive the boss’ ultimate move.
