Terapagos is a cute new Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk that many players want to beat and catch. However, like any other legendaries or pseudo-legendaries, there are a lot of steps and things to do before adding it to your Pokedex. In the second DLC of the ninth entry of the games, players need to finish most of the story, face several trainers, and then prepare to face one of the most fun and challenging battles of this title.
How To Defeat Terapagos in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk
Before you even attempt to battle this turtle, you need to complete many things in the DLC’s main story. If you didn’t know, this time, you’ll take a trip to the Blueberry Academy as an exchange student and face some of the toughest challenges to date. These are the following tasks you must complete before facing this turtle-like creature:
- Defeat the Elite Four of the new area.
- Defeat Kieran.
- Head to the new Academy to progress to the final part of the story.
After heading back to the school, you’ll access another area where you can face Terapagos. While this creature doesn’t look menacing, you should be careful because, as the creature most related to the Terastal phenomena in Paldea, there’s a big fight ahead.
Terapagos Battle Guide
Once you finish a cutscene involving Kieran, you’ll face Terapagos. Initially, this is a normal-type Pokemon, meaning Fighting-type Pokemon are ideal. However, it also can change types on the fly, meaning you should bring a balanced team. From what we’ve experimented with, Anhilape and Lucario are ideal for this fight. While Terapagos has different attacks, its main type is Normal, meaning Anhilape can counter most moves. Here are some of the Pokemon we recommend for the encounter:
- Lucario
- Anhilape
- Gholdengo
- Empoleon
- Scizor
How To Capture Terapagos
Contrary to other pocket creatures, Terapagos is easy to catch once you beat it. After two phases of the fight, some characters we won’t spoil will help you against this legendary creature. While you might think you’ll need to use your Master Balls, don’t. Once you defeat this Pokemon, throw any Pokeball at it, and it’ll be a guaranteed catch.
If you manage to beat and capture Terapagos in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk, you’ll be one step closer to filling out the new Pokedex. Yet, there are many more pocket creatures to find in Paldea, so grab your cap and your Pokeballs, and prepare to catch ’em all.
