Corrupted to the core by The Root, the Ravager in Remnant 2 has become a bad dog that needs to be put down. Fortunately, your adventurer has the weaponry to give the tainted deity a swift passing. However, that doesn’t mean the Corrupted Ravager won’t give you a hard time during its forced euthanasia. Viciously enraged, this beast has fast, telegraphed attacks that are easy to read but hard to avoid. Let’s go over how you can handle this Remnant 2 boss battle effectively.
Corrupted Ravager Boss Battle in Remnant 2 Explained
The Corrupted Ravager will begin the fight by ominously approaching you, typically followed by one of two attacks. First, he might slam the ground, sending out a ranged attack that covers the ground with extreme speed. As soon as his paws smash the ground, dodge immediately; otherwise, the shockwave will hit you.
Spare the Pillars
If you’re standing behind one of the destructible pillars in the room, the column struck will absorb the damage. However, we recommend positioning yourself to preserve these pillars for later. When your HP is low, you can hide behind them to heal while avoiding the ranged move. Additionally, these environmental objects cancel a dangerous AoE attack we’ll discuss later.
Melee Is Viable if Your Timing Is Perfect
The Remnant 2 Corrupted Ravager will summon several spiked Root Tumblers to his side, which will become a bane if you don’t kill them quickly. Use your ranged weapon to kill these buggers as fast as possible. If you find yourself low on ammo, melee striking the boss is viable, but you’ll need to take note of the Ravager’s two specific close-range attacks:
- Claw Slash: The Corrupted Ravager will execute two frontal slashes twice; you can dodge into his body to evade them.
- Pouncing Backflip: The boss will jump up, plant his hind paws into your chest, and propel himself away. This move deals significant damage and will knock you down.
Both of these melee attacks are easy to read, but they have a slight “wind-up” time, similar to Elden Ring‘s Margit. So don’t dodge too soon.
Keep Your Distance From the Gravitating Death Howl
After the Corrupted Ravager’s HP drops to a certain point, the floor will turn red, indicating you’ve reached the second phase. One annoying attack the boss will do is a twirling howl, creating an AoE whirlpool that will suck you in and drain your HP. When this occurs, immediately run or roll in the opposite direction. If you’re a Handler, quickly call your dog to your side. Otherwise, you’ll soon be fighting alone.
The final move the Ravager will unleash is an intimidating charge, during which he’ll home on your position, lunging at you with open claws. Like his melee attacks, do not dodge too early, but wait for the moment right when he extends his claws and bares his fangs. Dodge to the side, and you should have a brief instant when you can fire at the weak point on his back.

Similar to the battle with the Root Nexus, you’ll want to prioritize Root Tumblers whenever they appear. If they knock you down, you’ll be left defenseless for a follow-up attack by the Corrupted Ravager boss in Remnant 2.
