This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Most players know how to build a rain catcher in Sons of the Forest. Sons of the Forest is a survival game that requires players to find creative ways to obtain resources such as food and water. One of the ways to get water is by building a rain catcher. In Sons of the Forest, you must fend for yourself without assistance from the game.

In the most recent version, the game’s makers employed sea turtle shells as a practical rain catcher. These handcrafted objects are necessary for every well-built base. Thus players are urged to build one. Rainwater is collected in the turtle’s shell and affixed to a stick-built frame.

The rain catcher should be a part of every player’s camp and cover. This eliminates the need to go to and from a freshwater source if your camp is distant from one and the necessity to consider water sources when establishing your base. If the player has already found the 3D printer, then the flask can be manufactured and used to transport water when combined with the rain catcher.

How to Build a Rain Catcher in Sons of the Forest

First, players need to gather the necessary resources. Players will need 3 logs, six sticks, one tarp, and two ropes to build a rain catcher. Once players have compiled these resources, they can make the rain catcher. This guide will explain how to build a rain catcher in Sons of the Forest.

Step 1: Find a suitable location

The first step in building a rain catcher is to find a suitable location. Above all players should look for a place that receives a lot of rainfall and is easily accessible. A good site would be near the player’s shelter or base.

Step 2: Build the frame

Players will need 3 logs and six sticks to build the rain catcher’s frame. Players should start by placing one record on the ground and then placing a post on each end of the log. Next, players should place another ledger on top of the two sticks and then repeat the process to create a second set of posts. Finally, players should remember the last log on top of the two sets of bars to make the frame for the rain catcher.

Step 3: Add the tarp

The next step is to add the tarp to the frame. Players should lay the tarp over the top of the frame, ensuring it covers the entire structure. Players should then use the ropes to tie the tarp to the edge. One string should be connected to each end of the frame, ensuring the tarp is secure.

Step 4: Collect the water

Once the rain catcher is set up, players can start collecting water. As the rain falls, it will collect on the tarp and run down into the centre of the frame. Players should place a container under the centre of the frame to collect the water.

Step 5: Maintain the rain catcher

Maintaining the rain catcher is essential to make it continues to collect water. Players should check the rain catcher regularly to ensure that the tarp is securely tied to the frame and that the container containing the water must be completed. Additionally, players should also ensure the rain catcher is clear of debris and leaves that may block the water flow.

Note that, building a rain catcher in Sons of the Forest is a great way to obtain water and survive in the game. Players must gather the necessary resources, find a suitable location, build the frame, add the tarp, collect the water, and maintain the rain catcher. However, by following these steps, players can make sure that they always have access to clean water in the game.
