Disney Dreamlight Valley‘s monstrous “Laugh Floor” update has finally brought Monsters Inc. content to the game, including the dynamic duo of Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan, aka Sulley. Both of these monsters come to your valley in the “Eye on the Prize” quest, available after completing “Escape Claws.” Once that quest is finished, you’re free to charge ahead and bring Mike and Sulley to Disney Dreamlight Valley.

You’ll receive the “Eye on the Prize” quest automatically after completing “Escape Claws,” but to begin the quest objectives, talk to Mike Wazowski in the Monsters Inc. realm. He’ll explain that he’s happy to come to Dreamlight Valley, but he needs to set an all-time Jokester record first. To do so, he needs you to go to reception and get more keycards, but the door’s jammed. In order to un-jam the door, get the toolkit from the red cabinets in the back of the room. These are the same cabinets where you got the fuse in “Escape Claws.”

After you’ve gotten the toolkit, go back to the reception area where you entered the realm. On the left side of the room, you’ll find a blocked door. Interact with it and transfer the toolkit over to unblock it, giving you access to the receptionist area. Turn right, and there’s a green chest in the corner. It’s not necessary for the quest, but you might get something cool.

You’ll find the keycards on the reception desk. Pick them up, then head back to Mike on the Laugh Floor.

Eye on the Prize: Searching the Kid’s Rooms

For the next step in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s “Eye on the Prize” quest, Mike will retrieve the doors and task you with sneaking into the kid’s rooms to find clues about what would make them laugh. The red door is up first, so go through and search the room for three clues.

The clues you need here are:

  • The elephant drawing on the wall near the bed.
  • The clown drawing on the wall next to the Simba lamp.
  • The drawing of a magician’s hat and wand on the window – you’ll need to pull back the curtains to get to this one.

Once you’ve gotten all three clues, exit the room and go back to Mike. You’ll report that the kid in the red room is a circus fan, and then it’s time to move on to the blue door. Step through into the blue room, and it’s time to look for three more clues. This time, you need to take photos of the clues for them to count.

In the blue room, you need to take a photo of:

  • The Astrojet poster on the wall above the Mickey lamp.
  • The yellow book on the floor by the bookshelf.
  • The star lights on the ceiling (you don’t need to get all of them).

With all three photos taken, exit the room and talk to Mike again. The kid in the blue room is a space fan, Mike has a plan to make him laugh, and it’s time to move on to the last door, this one green. Mike wants you to get a physical clue from this room, but it’s a mess! You’ll need to clear away all the piles of trash and dirty laundry in order to find the clue, a Whoopie Cushion.

Exit the green room and give the Whoopie Cushion to Mike. He’ll figure out that burping will make the kid laugh, so he needs your help getting three sodas.

In order to produce the biggest burp ever, Mike gives you two tokens and tasks you with getting one soda from each of the vending machines in reception – a Red Soda, a Blue Soda, and a Green Soda. You may be spotting the problem with only having two tokens for three machines, but we’ll touch on that in a bit.

For now, head back to the reception area. You’ll find the red and blue vending machines right next to the spot where you entered the realm. The red machine is on already, so interact with it and get a Red Soda. Next, you’ll need to turn on the blue vending machine, so flip the blue switch on the wall next to it, then get a Blue Soda.

Now, you need to find the green vending machine, but you’re out of tokens. The vending machine is located in the hallway leading to the reception desk, and the problem can easily be solved by committing property damage. Simply take out your Pickaxe and smash the glass in to get your Green Soda, then return all three sodas to Mike on the Laugh Floor.

After you talk to Mike, he’ll enter each kid’s room and fill up their laugh canister, then return to you. Mike and Sulley are almost ready to come to Dreamlight Valley, but there’s one last thing: placing their apartment. To do this, all you need to do is return to your valley, open the furniture tab, and place Mike & Sulley’s apartment somewhere. It’s not huge, but it’ll still cost 20,000 coins to place, so make sure you can afford it.

After you’ve placed the apartment, Sulley will move in; talk to him. He’ll explain that Mike stayed behind to take his “Jokesters of the Month” photo, so return to the Monsters Inc. realm to get him. Once you return to the realm, talk to Mike on the Laugh Floor, and he’ll ask you to take a selfie with him. Do so, then speak to him one more time, and Mike will finally move to your valley, officially completing Disney Dreamlight Valley’s “Eye on the Prize” quest.
