Since you won’t have a lot of hints and the quest is quite difficult, you are definitely interested in our guide on how to complete Find the Fifth Sage in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Find the Fifth Sage is a long, multi-stage quest in which you will have to visit the surface, the sky, and the depths to find a sage who can help defeat Ganondorf. You will have the quest unlocked after you complete all the locations in the Regional Phenomenon quest and find Zelda in the Crisis at Hyrule Castle quest.

To start the quest, go to Purah after completing the Regional Phenomenon. She will instruct you to search for the fifth sage. Head to Kakariko Village where you can talk to Paya and Tauro and start the Secret of the Ring Ruins quest. Initially, the floating Ring Ruins were closed to you, but now you can go there and start searching for the sage.

To be able to complete the quest, you must have 10 Heart Containers and an unlocked Camera ability, so if you do not have it, be sure to complete Camera Work in The Depths.

To get to the Ring Ruins in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, use Ascend, after which you will notice a stone slab in the wall that you will need to take a picture of and return to Paya and Tauro. Calip will read what’s written on the picture and you’ll know that the next place you need to go is Popla Foothills Skyview Tower. To find it, go to the coordinates 0602, -2118, 0098 in the southwest of Kakariko Village or just use Fast Travel if you already have this tower unlocked. When you get there, Calip will tell you that Tauro has already left and gone to Dracozu Lake and that you should go there now.

When you arrive at the lake, you should find Tauro by entering the ruins at coordinates 0973, -2533, 0008. In conversation, he will read you a Mural, which is basically a riddle. It will make it clear that you need to find 3 pieces of Charged Armor. Fortunately, they are all nearby and you will find them all very quickly.

  • You will find the Charged Shirt when you climb the stairs on the side of the mural.
  • Charged Trousers are in the room behind the cracked rocks at coordinates 0983, -2691, 0008.
  • Charged Headdress can be found in the room hidden behind the vines at coordinates 0969, -2801, 0007.

After you find all the parts, go to the end of the river and then to the tree on top of the cliff, then enter the Zonai ruin in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. There will be an altar where you have to put on the Charged Armor and place a Zonai Charge, but if you don’t have it, there are Soldier Constructs nearby that you can defeat to accumulate the charge.

Dragonhead Island

The next place you need to get to is Dragonhead Island, and for this, you can use Popla Foothills Skyview Tower and fly south. You’ll need to glide and jump around the Thunderhead Isles until you get to Dragonhead Island, which will be below them. Keep in mind that there are often thunderstorms there, so visibility is poor, you will be hampered by rain, and you need to make sure you are not wearing any metal equipment.

After you finally get to Dragonhead Island in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you will find the Joku-u Shrine in front of a large door. And you need 10 hearts to enter it. There will be a mysterious mask inside and when you put it on, you will complete the Secret of the Ring Ruins quest.

After that, the Guidance from Ages Past quest will start in which you will go down to the Depths, fight the boss and finally find the fifth sage.
