Learn how to complete follow the Cuccos in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The sounds of Cuccos chuckling fill your ears whenever you visit Kakariko Village. Still, Cuccos are not just there for you to annoy and throw everywhere. They’ve got a life and nest of their own. Upon entering Kakariko’s General Store, you’ll realize the place is empty. If you speak to the Kakariko General Store owner, Trissa will say that she can’t get a hold of bird eggs because the Cuccos seem to have found a new nest. The poor woman can’t source the eggs, so she won’t be able to sell them any longer. So, because you’re a kind soul and want to purchase ingredients, you decide to help her out.

Follow the Cuccos Quest Walkthrough

To start Follow the Cuccos, you must complete Codger’s Quarell. This quest asks you to clear out the monsters near the Ring Ruins. To get this quest, speak to Trissa in Kakariko Village’s General Store for the first time.

Once you’ve acquired the quest, you only need to give Trissa 10 Bird Eggs. If you already have this in your inventory, you’re in luck. You can finish this quest right away.ย

If you don’t have 10 Bird Eggs, it’s time to complete this quest as intended. Cuccos head back to their new nest every morning. That means it’s time to pay 20 โ€” or 50 if you’re feeling fancy โ€” rupees for a stay at the inn until morning.ย

Rise with the sun and tail the Cuccoos very closely as they run up the hill. If you lose track of them, you’ll have to startย all over Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. So, to ensure you succeed, you might want to bring some stamina and speed elixirs.

If you lost track of them altogether and don’t feel like starting over the following day, you can just head directly to the Cucco Hideaway. The Cucco’s new nest hides south of Kakariko Village, atop the northernmost Pillar of Levia. The entrance is a bit hard to find since it’s small. You’ll have to crouch to get into the Cucco Hideaway, but you can source 10 Bird Eggs from the Cucco’s nests once you do. Honestly, completing Follow the Cuccos inย Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomย makes you feel like a baby Cucco snatcher. Just tell yourself you’re doing it for completion purposes.

By the way, the Cucco Hideaway is just like any regular cave. Break the pile of rubbles to access the two secret areas of the cave and find a Bubbulfrog.

With the 10 Bird Eggs in your inventory, head back to Trissa in the General Store to finish the quest.
