Do you want to know how to complete Mattison’s Independence in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom? In the game, Link can build his home and do a lot of customization. However, you must complete Mattison’s Independence quest to unlock this option. This quest takes place in Tarrey Town, north of the Gatanisis Shrine. This quest is not a very difficult one to complete. But it will take a bit of time. This guide will tell you how to complete Mattison’s Independence in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

When Link reaches Tarrey Town, Hudson and his wife Rhondson discuss sending their daughter Mattison to Gerudo Town. Because she has grown up, it is time to learn more about their culture and start her journey. Unfortunately, unless you sort this out, you cannot get any house construction done.

You can complete Mattison’s Independence in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom by completing some tasks Mattison and Hudson give you. Here are the steps you need to follow.

1. Speak to Hudson and start the quest.

After discussing with Hudson and his wife, you must go to the upper floor and speak to Mattison. She will ask you to meet her granny to give her a Gerudo quiz.

2. Go after Mattison and answer the question.

Mattison will ask her granny, “What is the Gerudo word for Granny?”. Give the correct answer as “Vaba.”

3. Block Hagie’s line of sight.

Follow Mattison again, and she will stop near the company showroom. She wants to go to Hudson’s job site to help him. But Hagie, who is in charge of the railcar, does not allow her to use the railcar without payment. So, Link needs to block his sight. There are a few methods you can do it.ย

We recommend you take the board beside the door and relocate it horizontally in front of Hagie. This will block his sight, and Mattison will leave on the railcar to Hudson’s job site. You need to follow her there. This is the third part of Mattison’s Independence side quest inย Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

4. Find ten Sundelions and give them to Hudson.

Hudson made a hot air balloon to let Mattison go on her trip. He wants to color it yellow but can’t find the ten Sundelions required. Go to the Uri Mountain Sky View Tower and glide to the Sky Islands. You will discover Sundelions there. Bring them back to Hudson, and he will paint the Balloon. Then, Mattison, Link, and her parents will leave for Gerudo town by Balloon.

Once they arrive there, you will receive 200 Silver Rupees as a reward and complete Mattison’s Independence in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Then you can start your house construction at Tarrey Town. If you need any visual guides for this quest, the below video from Karpo Gaming will help.
