How To Complete Recovering the Hero’s Sword in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom

Collecting and upgrading your gear is an integral gameplay activity in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. And while most of the armor and weapon sets you get during side quests, some items are only available during story stories. Whether it’s the first part of Zora’s Armor or the legendary sword of the hero sticking out of the dragon’s head, getting these artifacts is not easy. So if you’re ready to travel on an epic journey, we’re here to help you and tell you how to complete Recovering the Hero’s Sword in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

If you have already received the Recovering the Hero’s Sword quest, skip this part of the guide and go to the next section. But if you have not yet reached this stage of history, you will have to go through a difficult one.

Here’s what you must do to accept Recovering the Hero’s Sword in Tears of the Kingdom.

  1. Head southeast of the Great Hyrule Forest and jump into the Minshi Woods Chasm.
  2. Once in Hyrule Depths, go northwest to the central part of Korok Grove. Climb up to a large platform with columns.
  3. Use Ascend to up the Hyrule Surface and unlock the Korok Forest.
  4. Talk to the Great Deku Tree and go down to Hyrule Depths again through the Deku Tree Chasm at the tree roots.
  5. Heal Great Deku Tree’s stomach by defeating Phantom Ganon Boss.
  6. After completing this requirement, you must return to the Great Deku Tree and speak with it to accept the Recovering the Hero’s Sword main quest.

Talking to the Great Deku Tree, you will learn about the legendary hero sword sticking out of the Light Dragon’s head. This dragon flies at an altitude of over 1500 meters and in a circle over almost the entire territory of Hyrule. Luckily, you won’t have to wait for the dragon at a certain point. By accepting Recovering the Hero’s Sword, you will see a moving dot on the map and will be able to instantly move to the nearest Skyview Tower to get to the dragon. It is also worth noting that after talking with the Great Deku Tree, the dragon will descend to a height of about 700 meters.

To complete Recovering the Hero’s Sword main quest in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, you only need to get the sword from the dragon’s head. You can reach Light Dragon from almost any Skyview Tower based on the dragon’s location. Since the Light Dragon flies over the entire territory of Hyrule and next to most of the Skyview Towers.

When you reach the dragon, go to his head and try to pull out the sword. Removing this item will hurt the dragon, so press A to keep from falling. But once take out the Master Sword from the head of the dragon, you will have it at your disposal. You will also see an epic and heartwarming cutscene, after which you will finish the Recovering the Hero’s Sword quest.
