After unlocking Wall-E and reaching Friendship Level 10 with Merlin the Wizard in Disney Dreamlight Valley, players will be able to start the quest “The Final Trial.” During this Friendship Quest, participants will be tasked with collecting ingredients to craft a special potion called the Royal Watering Can Upgrading Ointment. When used on the Watering Can tool, this ointment enables players to remove the large corrupted mushrooms blocking pathways within the Glade of Trust. Once the mushrooms have been removed, fans can access another section of the biome, where they can discover new chests, more resources, and more land for farming and decorating.

Crafting the Royal Watering Can Upgrading Ointment in Disney Dreamlight Valley

The fastest way to unlock “The Final Trial” Friendship Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley is by having Merlin always accompany the player while completing his designated Skill, such as Gardening or Fishing. Additionally, gifting him dozens of Flowers found around the Valley will increase his Friendship level exceptionally quickly.

Step No. Walkthrough Details

  • The first step of “The Final Trial” tasks participants with crafting five Purified Night Shards, a refined material made by combining 5 Night Shards and 1 Dream Shard.
  • Therefore, players must gather a total of 25 Night Shards and 5 Dream Shards.

  • Give the Purified Night Shards to Wall-E and have him crush them.

  • Next, players must gather the following ingredients:
    • 1× Falling Water – This resource can be found at the top of the waterfall on the southern side of the Glade of Trust
    • 1× Ice Heart – This resource can be obtained by planting and harvesting the plant grown from an Ice Tear Seed. This seed can only be planted in Frosted Heights.
    • 25× Mushrooms – These are ingredients that be found growing in the Glade of Trust. They do respawn once harvested, but they cannot be farmed.

  • Go to a crafting bench and combine the Night Shard Powder with all the gathered ingredients to make the Royal Watering Can Upgrading Ointment.

  • Give the ointment to Merlin to have him upgrade the Watering Can tool.

  • Use the upgraded Watering Can to “Remove a Big Path-blocking Mushroom” to complete “The Final Trial” quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
