Gleam of the Final Dawn is one of the toughest missions in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader. You must do some puzzle-solving and there are difficult fights ahead of you. Fortunately, you gain a powerful companion who can serve as a melee tank. There is also a method to avoid one difficult fight that can affect your alignment. Here’s how you complete Gleam of the Dawn in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader.
Recruiting Heinrix in Gleam of the Final Dawn
The Inquisitor that you have been looking for is in the Electrodynamic Cenobium. Head inside and go to the southwest part of the map to find Heinrix. Heinrix automatically joins your team after the conversation, giving you a powerful melee fighter to investigate the area. This is a key part of Gleam of the Final Dawn in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader as Heinrix is necessary for puzzle clues.
Once you find Heinrix, make your way clockwise up the map, fighting off cultists and watching out for electric shocks. Even if time slows down during a battle, anyone who runs through the electricity will get severely hurt. Wait for the electricity to pass before running through. The enemies aren’t too difficult as long as you take your time.
Upon reaching the northern area, you find the missing Tech-Priest whom Pasqal has been looking for. You have two methods of resolving the situation.
Rescuing The Tech-Priest in Gleam of the Final Dawn
The first method of rescuing the Tech-Priest is fighting your way towards their position. This requires fighting the cultists for a few turns until the battle automatically ends. Combat won’t allow you to alter your alignment, but it provides lots of EXP if you take down several enemies.
The second method requires putting on heretical clothing found nearby. Your companions have different opinions about the clothing but it allows you to influence your alignment. Once you put on the clothing, enemies won’t attack you outside of a quick Lore (Warp) or Coercion check of 25.
Opposite the Tech-Priest is the Lumenodeoconis Command Throne. Behind it is the Distribution Server. Power it to the max and then interact with the nearby altar. Set the altar to overload and go back to the Lumenodeoconis Command Throne. Have Pasqal sit down and use the Litany of Actuation. Persuade him with Persuasion or Toughness and you will free the Tech-Priest.
Save the Tech-Priest after all the enemies fall if possible, then head to the east part of the map. Inspect the circular cogitator, then solve the Data Altar of Sacred Analysis with the following responses:
- “…the Omnissiah, from whom the holy discharge springeth forth.”
- “…the arcane key that closeth the circuit.”
- “…the immortal Reason that hath created the spark.”
This allows you to inspect the wall opposite the circular cogitator and meet the surviving priests. They lead you to Aurora for the final battle.
Defeating Aurora’s First Fight in Warhammer 40K: Rogue Trader
The first battle against Aurora has her protect herself with a barrier while enemies attack from the left and right sides. There are Electro Priests near six reactors, three on each side. This battle also has a time limit; finish the battle before the rounds reach zero or you lose. Fortunately, the enemies aren’t powerful and defeating the Electro Priests gives you one additional round.
Always prioritize defeating the Electro Priests because you need that time. Once all six have fallen, the time limit disappears and you can mop up the remaining enemies. Splitting your team into two groups of three helps cover additional ground while defeating enemies quickly. Long-ranged attackers like Soldiers can attack enemies from the other side as well.
Once all the enemies are defeated, Aurora is defeated and you can inspect her remains. The control panel also has a shard, which you can keep, hand to Heinrix, or throw into the reactors. You can now return to the Command Center in Rykad Minoris and speak to the Governor to conclude the quest.
Here’s a quick recap of what to do:
- Recruit Heinrix as soon as possible in the southwest.
- Fight your way to the north part of the map.
- Free the Tech-Priest by engaging enemies for a few turns or using a disguise.
- If you use the Disguise, set the Distribution Server and altar to their highest settings, then use the Lumenodeoconis Command Throne.
- Defeat Aurora by defeating all the Electro Priests, then defeating the other enemies.
