If you want to combat the cold temperatures of northern Hyrule, you better learn how to complete the White Bird’s Guidance in Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Your setbacks in the game won’t always be related to giant enemies or a lack of good weapons. Instead, food and body heat will prepare you to face whatever this game throws at you. This side quest in Rito Village will help you discover a new sanctuary that holds one of the treats your body will be grateful for. Keep reading this guide to learn how to complete the White Bird’s Guidance quest in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

To start this journey, proceed towards the northwest of Hyrule. The distinct avian ambiance of the village of Rito will indicate your arrival.

Upon reaching the village, locate a red Rito named Laissa. Speak to her, and she will express her concern. Laissa reports witnessing a green luminescence emanating from a nearby cave and entrusts you with investigating it. As a helpful hint derived from her own experience, she reveals that the cave is visible from the mountaintop during the dawn.

The first step to completing White Bird’s Guidance in Tears of the Kingdom is to reach the mountain’s summit. Don’t waste time climbing; you can use your Ascend ability. A good idea is to spend the night in that location, making a fire in this location. Then, as daybreak arrives, rise and direct your gaze to the left. You will spot a magnificent avian sculpture crafted from snow. Adjacent to it lies the entrance to West Lake Totori Cave.

Once Link finds Wao-os Shrine, the quest for White Bird’s Guidance in Tears of the Kingdom will be finished. However, it is essential to note that Laissa will not reward you with anything for completing this task. You can reward yourself by completing the shrine.

Once you complete the quest White Bird’s Guidance in Tears of the Kingdom, you will find three objects in the shrine: a ball, a square box, and a semicircular shape. You’ll use these objects to hit two targets located across a chasm.

  1. Use the Ultrahand ability to position the semicircle at one end of the board. Attach it by pressing A.
  2. Place the ball inside the semicircle, transforming it into a makeshift catapult. Don’t attach the ball to the catapult; it will move when launched.
  3. Use the Ultrahand ability to lift the metal box and drop it onto the opposite end of the lever.

Upon successfully hitting the first target, a shutter will open. Proceed to that location and grab the next wood plank, which is slightly longer.

With Ultrahand, position the wood at the front of the plank where the semicircle is fixed. This extension will lengthen the entire plank. Use the Ultrahand to secure the semicircle to the now longer end of the catapult. Place the ball inside the semicircle once again and repeat lifting the metal box as much as possible before dropping it onto the lever. This will enable you to strike the second target.

Before leaving the shrine, you discover in the mission White Bird’s Guidance in Tears of the Kingdom; open the chest above your right. Use the catapult again, but Link should be on the semicircle this time. As soon as airborne, open your paraglider and glide to the platform with the chest. A Spicy Elixir awaits inside. This elixir will grant you eight minutes of heightened resistance to extremely cold temperatures, ensuring you can endure freezing conditions.

Finally, after finding the cave and completing White Bird’s Guidance in Tears of the Kingdom, launch yourself into the air with the catapult once more to reach the shrine’s exit.
