You can find several puzzles as you explore the Ancestral Temple in Natlan. If you manage to complete them all, you can trigger the To the Night What Is the Night’s quest. A Courier named Legba will stop you from exploring further, but your pet Saurian gets a bit naughty and steals a relic. During this Genshin Impact‘s world quest, you must complete another round of puzzles to return the stolen artifact. Although they are not that challenging, the placements of some puzzles are a bit hidden.
To start the To the Night What Is the Night’s quest, you must complete three puzzles in the Ancestral Temple. All of them require you to shift into a Yumkasaur and use its special ability to interact with the mechanisms.
Puzzle #1
The first puzzle is located on the north side of the rock tower. This is the easiest challenge since you only need to grab the nearby Relay Ball and shoot it at the light hoop. It will give you an Exquisite Chest and the first Courier’s Trial Keystone.
Puzzle #2
After completing the first puzzle in the To the Night What Is the Night’s quest, you can head west and drop down to a lower platform. Here, you can find another Relay Ball. This one is a bit more tricky since the goal hoop is located on a faraway platform.
- Grab the Relay Ball.
- Hit the Ball Path Converter.
- Shoot the Relay Ball at the machine.
- Hit the Ball Path Converter again.
Puzzle #3
The third Relay Ball puzzle in To the Night What Is the Night’s quest can be found on the east side. This is another tricky challenge since the goal hoop is locked behind a gate. Here’s what you need to do:
- Grab the Relay Ball.
- Shoot it at the red Ball Path Converter.
- Pull the lever to lower the gate.
After you collect the three Courier’s Trial Keystones, you can approach the barrier in the Ancestral Temple. At this point, Legba will confront you and invite you to visit his camp. After a cutscene, your pet Saurian will steal a relic from the temple, and you must return it immediately.
All Lamp Locations in To the Night What Is the Night’s Quest
Inside the underground chamber, you will encounter a new type of puzzle. Basically, you need to light up six lanterns, but all of them are in pairs. Instead of using Pyro attacks, you have to use levers so they will be at the same heights and synchronize.
The first lever can be found on the tall pillar at the end of the massive chamber. Just shift into a Yumkasaur and grapple your way across.
Afterward, head west, where you can grab one Pyroculus from a wooden platform. Climb up to the second floor using the wooden ladder to your right and unlock the gate. You can find the lever for the lamps on the wall to your right.
Finally, go to the east side of the chamber where you can find several Phlogiston fruits. Grab one and shoot it at a cracked wall on the other side. Behind it, you can discover the final lever.
You are now reaching the end of the To the Night What Is the Night’s quest. After the water is gone, just head toward the altar and place the artifact. However, be careful since you will enter a boss fight.
