After two months of waiting, MWZ/MW3 Zombies Season 3 Reloaded is here, and it has brought us a new Dark Aether Rift. There are new schematics to unlock inside the new Dark Aether rift, but you’ll have to deal with Dr. Jansen and the Entity inside the rift first. Union is the name of the newest mission added to MWZ Act 4 in MW3 Zombies, and completing it rewards you with a story cutscene that sheds some light on the mysterious connection of Ava Jansen to the Dark Aether and Samantha Maxis. Don’t worry about shattering the crystals in the MWZ Union mission though; we’ve got you covered here on The Nerd Stash.
Union MWZ Mission Step By Step Guide
The Union mission is all about Dr. Jansen entering a new Dark Aether rift, and we have to follow and rescue her. Ravenov will be our company in this mission, but he is only here for the story’s sake, not to help us complete our objectives. Sometimes he gets bugged and won’t move, which might just ruin the mission and force the players to restart.
- So, the first you want to do is go on this part of the map in Urzikestan where the new Dark Aether rift has appeared. Make sure you’ve got a level 3 pack of punched weapons and equipment to survive. Not to be scared from the Dark Aether though; the zombies inside this rift are just as miserable as the undead in zone 2 of Urzikestan.
- The second step of the Union MWZ Act 4 mission in MW3 Zombies is to just follow Ravenov inside the Dark Aether rift. You’ll find Dr. Jansen going inside a foggy area, and then she reunites with the Entity. That’s all.
- In the third part, you’ll have to follow two orbs and track them to reach two bigger-than-usual Dark Aether crystals.
- After that comes the most challenging part of the Union Act 4 mission in MWZ Season 3 Reloaded, where you’d have to shoot down 2 crystals. These crystals have three letters on them, and you’ll have to spot each one of them scattered around the map and shoot them in the correct order.
MWZ Union Mission Shattering Crystals Guide
The order for shooting the crystals’ symbols is from left to right. So you’ll have to track where each letter flies and shoot them to weaken the crystal. If you shoot the wrong letter, the process restarts and you’d have to interact with the crystal again.
Remember that the best way to find these three letters is by hearing their noise. Once you’ve shattered the first crystal in the MWZ Union mission, go towards the second one that’s been marked on your HUD. Same drill, different location. The pattern of the letters on each crystal remains the same every time, so if you’ve missed it once, you can track them and do the objective again; no pressure.
Soul Chambers and The Final Boss
After dealing with the Dark Aether crystals in the MWZ Union Act 4 mission, you’ll have to get enough zombie kills near three soul chambers. Simply walk toward the obelisks and interact with them to start the process. Shoot zombies in the circle to finish the task, and then you’ll have to face the final boss; not Dwayne Johnson to be precise.
The enemy is called Taoxia, and she’s not even on that scary “Boss” level. If you have a level 3 pack-a-punched weapon, just slay the zombies and the boss to proceed in the mission. Taoxia is just a level 3 special zombie that doesn’t do any extra damage than a normal Disciple does. The rest of the job is easy, and all you have to do is to take a legendary Giraffe Toy item, which is necessary for claiming the MW3 Zombies Season 3 Reloaded schematics later, and exit the rift with Dr. Jansen and Ravenov.
MW3 Zombies Season 3 Story Ending, Explained
The final cutscene of the MW3 Zombies Season 3 Reloaded will play after you finish the MWZ Union mission. We get to see Dr. Gray, as the one who gave birth to Dr. Jansen. However, Ava’s biological mother is no other than Samantha Maxis from the Black Ops series.
Now one thing to notice here is that Sergei Ravenov is Ava’s biological father, which makes sense as to why he cares for her through the MW3 Zombies storyline. Another golden plot point that we could dig from this cutscene is that Ava is not cooperating anymore; at least for now. And that could only mean one thing: Samantha 2.0.
If you remember in the old times of Black Ops Zombies stories, Sam was controlling the undead in a large portion of the narrative. And now with Ava Janson bonding with her shadow in the Dark Aether, the threat of the Entity could be a lot more dangerous. What if Ava takes control of the zombies and attacks everyone?
Or, as we see no zombies in the MW3 campaign, taking place after the events of MWZ, Jansen could have sacrificed herself as her mother did in the Black Ops Cold War to close the Dark Aether rifts. For now, we’ve got two more story cutscenes to follow in MWZ Seasons 4 and 5 Reloaded.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is currently available to play on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
